Jungkook—
Sweat coated my palms, as we approached the restaurant, where we were going to meet Taehyung's parents. "Are you sure that this is a good idea?" I asked the elder, trying to take in as much reassurance as I could. The blonde gave me an endearing expression, before taking my moist hand. "It'll be fine, Kookie. And even if things don't go the way we want it to, I will never leave your side, alright?" Sighing, I nodded, and squeezed his fingers. "Yeah. Yeah, okay. I can do this. We can do this." Taehyung gave me a bright smile, and nodded firmly.
"Come on, then. Let's get out of the car, and go tell them the good news." I groaned, and unbuckled my seatbelt. "Don't make it seem like we're telling your parents that you're pregnant. That's definitely not making me any less nervous." I glanced at the elder, quickly. "You're not pregnant, right?" Taehyung sighed, exasperatedly, "even if I wanted to, I couldn't be. Don't be silly." I nodded, to myself, before getting out of the elder's car, trying to calm my raging nerves.
It'll be okay, I thought to myself. Tae's parents are cool with you. And even if they hate you, after this, he said that he'll stay with you no matter what. Honestly, buddy, you should be getting on your knees and kissing his feet, because what kind of saint wants to stay with your sorry ass?
Deciding that giving myself encouragement was not going too well, I reached forward and grabbed onto the edge of Taehyung's jean jacket, just to give myself some kind of reassurance. The other male casted me an understanding expression, before taking my hand in his. "Seriously, Jungkook, calm down." Exhaling deeply, I nodded my head. "Let's just do this before I chicken out, and decide not to." The elder sent me a small smirk, "Jeon Jungkook, Mr. Bad-Boy-Delinquent, chickening out? That's just unheard of!"
I gave Taehyung an exasperated look, not really in the joking mood. "Please don't call me that. It's embarrassing to hear it from you." Sighing, the blonde shook his head, before leaning in, to whisper into my ear. "How about after this, no matter what the outcome, I'll let you do whatever you want me?" Eyes wide, I pulled back to look at the elder's face, seriously. "Anything? You sure you're ready?" Taehyung nodded, once, with certainty. "Yes. Anything."
Suddenly, feeling more confident, I took in one more large breath, before staring at the front doors of the restaurant. "Alright, let's go."
"That's what I wanted to hear."
Together, we walked inside of the cozily lit restaurant, and headed towards the windows, where Taehyung's parents sat. They still haven't noticed us, seeing how they were gazing out into the busy streets, that buzzed with energy and life. Taehyung let go of my hand to sling his arms around both of his parents' shoulders, exclaiming a cheerful greeting.
Shaking my head, at the elder's enthusiasm, I bowed my head towards his parents, before sitting down beside him. Mrs. Kim threw her arms around her son, bringing him into a tight hug. "Look at you, my Taehyungie's so grown now!" The blonde giggled, and patted her back. "Mother! You saw me not too long ago!" The elder woman let out a dramatic sigh, before settling back into her seat, "it felt like ages to me." Mr. Kim, who was more calm than his wife, gave me a warm smile. "Hello, Jungkook, it's been some time, since we've seen each other."
I smiled, and nodded my head. "Yes, well, I'm glad that we could meet again, like this," I answered, politely. Mrs. Kim's twinkling laugh seemed to have lifted my worries, as she encouraged us to order something. She slid Taehyung the menu, who immediately shared with me, seeing how there was only one. "I'm getting this," the elder declared, pointing at a dish, from the array of fancy-font words. "Then, I'll get this one," I said, a moment after, pointing at the option.
When I lifted my eyes, I'd noticed that Taehyung's parents were watching us, almost intensely. Feeling a bit of the anxiousness, from earlier, I pulled away from the blonde, sitting beside me. I was starting to back out, before I even started.
