My First and Last Love

Chapter 9-Goodbye

It has been a week and the memory of the proposal was still fresh in Rachel's mind. As she walked through the halls everyone was still congratulating her on her engagement. Teachers, students, even Mr.Figgins congratulated her. Both of her dads were totally ok with that with her and Quinn. Quinn told her mother and she was happy for her. Quinn was at home sitting on the couch in her living room eating chips looking at the ceiling. Her mother walked in with a box in her hands.
"Look what came in the mail today sweetie." Her mom said opening the box and pulling out her graduation cap and gown. Quinn looked at what her mom had in her hands and got excited and got up and decided to put it on. After she put the cap on and zipped up the gown she looked at her reflection in a picture frame. She turned around and saw her mom who was now sitting on the couch with a tear coming out of her eyes.
"Mom don't cry." Quinn said running up to her mom to hug her.
"It just............I remember when you were a little girl and wanted to be a mermaid and now you are going to NYU to become a performer. I am going to miss seeing your face everyday or waking you up in the mornings or you coming down stairs begging me to go to a party. Now you do all that stuff on your own."her mom said trying to stop her tears.
"Awe mom it's not like I won't visit. And you and I both know that you will try and skype me every week. I will be home for the holidays, even the ones we don't even celebrate." Quinn said looking at her mom with a smile. Her mom returned the smile and stood up fixing the gown on Quinn.
"Mom, can I ask you a question." Quinn said looking at a picture of her and her mom and dad.
"Yeah, what's up?" her mom said still fixing the gown on Quinn.
"Do you think that dad will come to the graduation" Quinn asked turning around to look at her mom. Her mom was frozen and just looked at her.
"If we're being honest I really don't know but I wouldn't count on it sweetie."her mom said in a soft voice.
"I think I am going to go to my room and do some more packing"Quinn said taking off the cap and gown and taking it to her room. Once she got to her room she layed out the cap and gown neatly on the white chair in the corner of her room. She sat on her bed and thought about that night that she came out to her dad.

Flashback
"Mom, Dad I have to tell you something. This is something that has always been inside of me. I have tried everything in my power to make it go away and push it aside but it always comes back stronger. I have been fighting it and it goes away but it comes back like a punch in the face. I have been fighting it for 2 years now and I am done fighting, I am just too tired." Quinn said looking at the ground. Her heart is racing, it's like it is going to jump out of her chest and onto then coffee table in front of her.
"What are you talking about baby girl?"her dad asks.
"Mom, Dad I'm bi." Quinn said looking at her parents and saw that her mom had tears in her eyes.
"I am so sorry that you thought you had to keep this from us. I just want you to know that I love unconditionally."her mom said as she got up and hugged her. After her mom pulled away she kissed her on her forehead. Quinn looked at her dad in the same position he was in since he sat down.
"Daddy please say something, anything." Quinn said looking at her dad with worry in her eyes. It felt like her legs could give out at any minute.
"I have worked my hardest to get everything you ever wanted. It is so selfish of you to go and stab me in the back with this bullcrap!"he screamed now standing.
"I am so sorry daddy. But this is who I am."Quinn said crying. Her dad got up shook his head and walked out of the room and upstairs without saying another word.
That night she heard her mom and dad screaming. She got out of bed and went down stairs and looked at her dad. She looked him in the eye and saw the disappointment in his eyes. She looked what was on the floor beside him and it was a large suitcase.
"Daddy please don't do this" Quinn said just above a whisper looking at her dad with tears in her eyes. He shook his head and walked out the front door. She cried her eyes out for 3 whole weeks. Mr.Shue even dedicated a whole week of songs to her to cheer her up. She was depressed for weeks until Rachel comfort her one day after Glee Club. She just sat there and opened up to Rachel. She then knew, she was in love with Rachel Berry.
