Attention McKinley idiot. It's homecoming week, which means that a bunch of old farts will be creeping around the hallways like Game of Throne White Walkers. . . ." Sue said over the intercom.
"Did your hear? The glee club is back!' Rachel said walking through the hall.
"Horrifying you with their beer bellies and their liver sports. And that's just the class of 2012." Sue continued over the intercom.
"The sign up sheet is right over here." Rachel said.
"FYI, the much beloved McKinley High homecoMing dance id canceled, due to. . .uh, let's say Sharia Law." Sue said over the intercom as Rachel walked up to the sign up sheet to see it was vandalized. Rachel turned around to be hit in the face with a red slushie.
"Lima Loser." Becky Jackson.
~that night~
~Mr. Shue's apartment~
"I mean, honestly, I forgot how cold those slushies are. They chill you to the bone!" Rachel said.
"I'm so sorry that happened Rachel. All right guys dinner is served." Mr. Shue said and lead them to the dining room table. He invited Rachel, Kurt, Sam, and Quinn to dinner.
"You know what, though? It didn't really bother me. It's like I felt good being an underdog again, like I was getting back to my McKinley roots." Rachel said.
"That's a great way of thinking about it babe." Quinn said as she sat down next to Rachel.
"Well thank you." Rachel said and pecked Quinn on her lips.
"All that from getting slusheed into the face? Well, I guess Becky did you a solid." Sam asked finding a seat.
"Uh, wait, so you two a codirecting, then?" Mr. Shire asked referring to Rachel and Kurt.
"Not Really." Rachel said.
"Yes." Kurt said at the same time Rachel said not really. "Well I guess we haven't come around to that conversation yet." Kurt added.
"We're just focusing on recruiting right now, so. . ." Rachel said and the doorbell rang. "Oh, guess that's Blaine." Rachel said. Quinn saw Kurts whole demeanor change.
"It will be ok." Quinn whispered to Kurt am gave her a small smile.
"Oh, my god, you will not believe the day I just had. Sorry I'm late. What did I miss?" Blaine said coming into the room and taking a seat.
"Uh, not much, but since I have you all here, we might as well get started. We have some force show choir completion ahead of us, and, uh, I think we should lay down some ground rules." Mr. Shue said.
"Yes. Uh, like no stealing each other's set lists and no spying." Rachel said.
"And no poaching." Mr. Shue added.
"And always be supportive and clap for each other,no matter what." Sam added.
"I actually really, really need everyone's advice. I have a huge dilemma. A girl wants to join the warblers." Blaine said.
"What's the dilemma?" Rachel asked.
"You can't be on the wrong side of history here. I mean, you of all people should know that." Mr. Shue added.
"Well, I know, I just think that tradition is important, too, you know?" Blaine asked.
"Yeah, well, some traditions are meant to be broken." Rachel said.
"I am with Rachel." Quinn said.
"Gross." Kurt said.
"I think it's hot." Rachel said looking into Quinn's green eyes.
" You have to let her try out. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?" Kurt said.
"I guess we could try that." Blaine said.
"Well anyway, Quinn haven't spoken to you since you left what was the tour like?" Sam asked.
"It was amazing! After every show went to the hotel then the next day we would go out a sight see and eat at all these different places. Then after the second show we get on a plane then go to the next city. While we were out me and my friends would take some of the weirdest pictures all over the city. After every show we would get hit with a hurricane but after a few weeks I got the hang of it." Quinn explained.
"What is a hurricane?" Mr Shue asked.
"It's when a lot of fans come over to us to ask for autographs and pictures." Quinn said.
"Wow so you guys were like rock stars." Sam said.
"Kinda like that." Quinn said.
"Wait so how many of you were there?" Mr. Shue asked.
"It was me, Cece, Tracey, Danny, Gabe, and Jason." Quinn said.
"So you became close to them?" Blaine asked.
"Yeah we became really close." Quinn said.
"So close to the point where they call her every week." Rachel added.
~next day~
"Well, I never agreed to be you assistant. I just saying, co chair seems a little more fair." Kurt said organizing sheet music
"Yeah? Well, you never would have thought to do a work study program here at McKinley if I wasn't here in the first place." Rachel said organizing with Kurt.
"Okay. Well, let's just hold off on the whole labels issue until we actually have a glee club to lead." Kurt said.
"Fine." Rachel said.
"Where did you put We Both Reached for the Gun from Chicago?" Kurt asked.
"1975 to 1980." Rachel responded.
"You organized them chronologically?" Kurt asked.
"Yes." Rachel said and walked over to Kurts side and her eye shot out of her head. "Wait a minute. What does Xanadu have to do with Ace of Base?" Rachel asked.
"I am filing them based on emotion, as we always should have filed them. Alright this pile is Divas Strike Back and that pile is Cherish Yourself and that pile right there is Makeovers, cause we always tend to love a good makeover." Kurt said pointing out each pile.
"Great. Well, we just wasted the past two hours, and now we have to start all over again." Rachel said frustrated.
"Okay, there is no point in organizing sheet music if we don't have any members. Rachel you got to be more proactive if you expect this to work. Okay you can't just post a sign- up sheet and expect people to sign up like Mr. Shue did. McKinley has changed. Sue has got these kids thinking the arts don't even exist. We have for to show that Glee is possible. I'll be in the auditorium." Kurt said and stormed out. As soon as he walked out Rachel heard the voice coming from the air vents. Rachel started to walk down the hall following the noise. She walked into the boys locker room and saw nothing. She was in the hall and saw Sam.
"OH, my god, Sam, you hear it to?" Rachel asked.
"Yeah is it like a high pitched ringing but only in you left ear? Because yes, I do, all the time. I never wanted Mr. Shue to know because he's like God to me, but know that you know I feel like I can tell you all this stuff that I have been holding. . ."
"Shhh!" Rachel cutting off same and peeking in an empty room and then the voice stopped.
"I swear I heard it. I know it's true." Rachel said walking away.
"Yeah. I believe you, Rachel. I mean the doctors won't, but I believe you." Sam said as she walked away.
~the next day~
"I found the God mic." Kurt said as Rachel walked up to him and took a seat. "Okay, I know things got a little crazy earlier, and we both said some things about your life that wasn't very nice, so. . .mostly me. Wait why are you smiling?" Kurt asked once he realized Rachel had a huge smile on her face.
"Cause you were right. About me hiding in here and not being prop active. But when you left yesterday, I had an epiphany and I heard a voice." Rachel explained really excited.
"You found a student?" Kurt asked shocked.
"Well, not exactly, but I heard him. At least I think it's a him." Rachel said.
"Well, let's not label or judge." Kurt said.
"The point is, is that you were right. About everything. They're out there. They're here right now in McKinley, hiding in plain sight. The just need something big to draw the out, to show them what they could be." Rachel explained and Kurt nodded. "So I got on the phone." Rachel added.
"With who?" Kurt asked and the spotlight turned on.
"With everyone!" Santana said. "Surprise!" Sam wheeled Artie on the stage and Quinn was walking behind them with Puck behind her.
"Damn it, you guys, you said you'd wait for me to park the rental car." Tina said coming from backstage. They all chanted Tina's name and she finally came over and joined the group hug. They went to the choir room.
"It's so great to have you all together in this room again. It means so much to us that you would come at the drop of a hat." Rachel said.
"Artie, are you drawing me?" Quinn asked.
"Nope just you boobs. I'm practicing for my storyboarding class." Artie said.
"Okay we need to focus. We're in crisis mode all right?" Kurt said. "Glee club has done so much for all of us. You know? It brought us together, it gave us hope, it put us out into the world." Kurt continued
"And it brought some of us home again." Rachel said.
"She's talking about me." Sam said.
"Here's the situation. We need you guys back, not all the time, we realize that you have lives in other places." Rachel said.
"We've got to get Glee Club back on its feet, you know? Especially since now some of us are the competition." Kurt explained.
"He's talking about Shue and Blaine." Sam said.
"We need you back. Not all the time, but if you're not here, then the tradition of the club we love so much will be gone. So we're going to find kids that can bring something to it the same way we did, and we will mentor them based on our strengths" Rachel said.
"But right now we really got to take on the school. You know, really rattle Sue's cage. We are going to give McKinley a taste of what they have been missing." Kurt said and turned on the radio and A-ha's "Take On Me" begins and they all look at each other to know that they are thinking the same thing.
