"I want a team of warriors on the east, south and west boarders. Then a troop of gun men on the north." I watched Beau point with determined authority as the men listened to his every instruction. "I need a group of both guarding the human camps, their getting a bit out of hand and I will not have an uprising on my hands right now. "I sighed as he began walking again, slightly irritated by his words and the fact he continued to ignore my presence, making me basically his shadow.
For the past week and a half I received no training, no sort of combat at all. Like I said, I was his shadow and it bothered me to no end. The only good thing that had come out this was the closeness I had to him. I constantly found any and every reason to brush up against his soft tan skin and hear his deep, baritone voice with words directed towards me. It was mostly in response to what the voice in my head wanted, but I couldn't lie and say I didn't enjoy it. The tingling, pleasurable shocks that danced across my skin and sent every part of me into a frenzy.
He led the groups of soldiers through the winding dirt roads of the pack grounds. Little children occasionally raced by or even stopped to salute and say 'hi' to their protectors. My mouth twitched into a smile at them and my heart constricted.
'We could have pups one day.' The voice said clearly, a longing softness to her voice that wasn't usually there. 'If you just stop bullshitting and tell him what you want.' She flipped and I rolled my eyes. There she went again about the mating thing.
I didn't even understand what mating was and why it was so important to my voice. She was almost desperate for me to tell him. Hollering to do it before it was 'too late.' I had no clue what she meant, but I assumed she was afraid something would happen to him what with all the attacks being served to his kingdom.
Our party of soldiers stopped as Beau stopped in front of small home. "The rest of you just roam around the grounds, handle any minor disturbances and report anything too out of the ordinary." Beau said and waved his hand in a dismissal.
He stood there a few moments, watching the men disperse before turning his sea green eyes on me." Beau –"I began, ready to confront him about my training, but stopped short by his hand in my face. I gave it a glare before looking past it at him, ready to let my frustration out.
"Don't speak, just come. "He said and grabbed my dark hand in his larger light one.
I kept my mouth shut and followed him. He lead me through the streets filled with shops, restaurants, homes and his people. They looked happy as they engaged with each other, a unified community of strength and happiness. It was unlike the humans, who lived in weakness and misery of what was likely to be their lives for centuries to come. I was no different from those humans though, I'd been infected with the disease of pessimistic hopelessness and depression same as them.
We walked for a while, the sounds of civilization slowly becoming quiet as we distanced ourselves. I was beginning to get nervous as the dirt road disappeared and we began to step on crisp, fall leaves. We stepped over fallen trees and dodged low lying branches as we walked farther into the forest. We continued walking, only stopping when we came to a clearing.
He let go of my hand as we stopped, looking at me with no emotion. I glanced around at the vibrant green grass and tall trees. Birds chirped and the faint rustle leaves as the wind swayed the trees in a soft dance. The air was crisp and clear and I took deep breath smiling. A feeling of calm washed over my body and I looked at Beau's now soft eyes. He was focused on me, watching me with curious eyes. I smiled and looked behind him where I saw a cabin, almost completely hidden in the trees. "Wow." I said breathlessly as how grand and beautiful it looked. Something in me called me towards it, screaming 'home'.
My feet carried me slowly to the cabin, flashes of things I don't quite remember, raiding my mind.
I saw me, smiling and running towards the cabin. I was beckoning someone forward with one hand as I held a fist full of the mint green dress I was wearing. The dress reminded me of something from the fifties, reminding me of the very few pictures my mother had of my great Nana Meghan.
The other person seemed to catch up as I light hand met my dark one. Our fingers intertwined, and they disappeared from mind as I came closer, only to reappear suddenly. I saw the face of the person, to see a smiling Beau. That's us. Me and Beau at this cabin! But how?
'Lots of questions to be answered when we are marked and mated.' The voice chimed and I could hear that she was straining not to tell me something.
I turned to Beau, only to be greeted by a hard chest. "What is this place?" I asked him quietly, looking up at him.
"Where you'll be training. There are clothes to get changed into inside, hurry and meet me out here." I nodded and pushed open the door.
I went inside and just like when I'd found Beau the other day when I'd woken up, my feet just guided me. They brought me to dark wood double doors that I pushed open easily and entered into the navy blue room. The room was large. There was a large king sized bed, pressed against the far wall covered in blue covers with matching side tables. There was no t.v but two large bookcases and a little nook with a love seat and arm chair. There was a closet that I wandered into and it was completely filled with old, vintage looking clothing. Much like the clothing I'd seen in the vision.
A bathroom was on the other side of the room, I walked over quickly to examine the large white claw foot bathtub on the floor. There was a shower across from it and there were double sinks with marble table tops. I looked into the mirror and felt completely at ease, smiling.
"I don't think this is hurrying." Beau's voice carried to me and I flinched, pressing a hand to my chest.
"God." I gasped and then smiled." It's very nice here." I said and looked around, ignoring his statement." I love this...but how come it's all blue?" I asked. Everything was all a shade of blue, and I thought it was odd.
Beau studied for a long few minutes, and I stared back trying to figure out what was so intriguing in his eyes. "That's what you wanted." He replied vaguely, before clearing his throat. I frowned and he grabbed my hand pulling me to the bed where a change of clothes sat. "Hurry." He repeated.
I nodded and then watched him leave.

I loved writing this chapter , lowkey didn't even want to stop, but I wanted her first training session to be separate and with some touchy feely Beau and Mira stuff.
I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter as much as I did!!!
