Gosh I couldn't get into writing this chapter worth a darn tbh. But hey! It's here and for you to read guys so enjoy!
Beau's presence beside me did nothing to cool my nerves as the five large men sauntered into the conference room. I tried my best to look collected and serious, but the shaking in my hands and my unsteady breaths were sure to be a dead giveaway as the diverse set of men grabbed their designated seats. Just behind them five women with beautiful, long dresses came in behind them. Their seriousness wasn't surprising, but it was slightly unsettling.
I looked up at Beau's own serious face before looking at the women that took places standing behind the men. Beau expected me to sit with them and socialize until they finished their meetings, but I didn't want to. I wanted to be a part of the conversation that would take place in this room, but of course Beau insisted otherwise. He wanted me to experience the tasks of being a Luna. He reached for my hand as he overlooked the supernatural leaders, I grabbed it and smiled. "Welcome." I spoke warmly, remembering the words I had forced myself to rehearse over the last few days.
"Luna Amira, as beautiful as I remember." One of the men with pointy ears and a thick Irish accent said with a smile, the Fae King, as I remembered from my extensive research of the six in the room. I bowed to him slightly.
"Good day King Nolan." I said and then looked at the others with kind eyes. "It's nice to meet you all. I hope that your trip was well and that everything here will be of your liking." I said and they all just looked at me and then Beau with a spark of admiration flashing across their faces. "Ladies will you follow me?" I asked as I let go of Beau's hand and walked towards the door. All six of them bowed towards Beau and then followed me.
For the past week or so Beau and I had been preparing for this. The arrival of the paranormal and his Alpha's around the country. He had taught me their names. The Fae King, King Nolan of the Europe continent. The Vampire King, King Paulo of the South American continent. The Jinni King, King Chao of the Asian continent. The Troll King, King Noah of the Australian continent. Then the King of Witchcraft, King Yonas of the African continent. After he introduced me to them I went on to research everything I could about each species. After all I had only met werewolves in my entire life. When my research was complete I learned about the dozens of wars that happened between the six men over land and peace and even some till this day hated each other.
I lead the women down the hall, the silence behind me was deafening. My fingers wrapped around the door knob to the gathering hall. "This is where we'll sit until their finish. " I said over my shoulder, walking in and smiling back at them. They walked in slowly and took seats all around the room.
We sat in awkward silence. They sat back and watched each other cautiously as if one would spring an attack. I cleared my throat. "So, um, what are your names?" I asked curiously, looking between the women.
There was silence that followed my question until one of the girls sighed loudly." I'm Bai." One said and stood. She gave me a kind smile, pushing some her ink black hair behind her ear. "I'm Chao's mate." She said sweetly, offering a dainty hand to shake. I smiled back, taking her hand.
"Amira, but you can call me Mira." I said, she nodded.
"Noted." She said and then looked back at the others." They are a bit stuck up." She whispered to me and I quirked an eyebrow before looking at the others.
'Rude bitches.' The voice hissed angrily. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at her.
A girl with beautifully dark skin rolled her eyes and stood. She looked at me with almost black eyes and glanced me over once before offering me a smile." Aida. Wife to Yonas" She said, offering a hand. "And I am in fact not a 'rude bitch' as you say." She said with a smirk and my eyes widened.
