I woke up to the cold in my bed, the orange sun glowing on my face and into my eyes, bringing some sort of warmth to my skin. I was disrupted from my blank mind by a soft knock at the door "come in" I croaked out with my raspy morning voice, the door opened and Callie walked over to me carefully.

the blonde laid down next to me and stared at the ceiling with no expression, I loved when she did this and it made me realise how much I would miss it. "it's Wednesday" She exclaimed happily, the thought hadn't even passed my mind yet, "oh... yeah" I cheered and threw my hands into the air, I rubbed the dust from my eyes and tossed my legs out of the duvet and onto the floor.

Callie left after a while of talking and procrastinating for me to start getting ready.

I had this weird feeling in the bottom of my stomach. memories of last night flew into my mind, bringing a small smile to my face, it was a perfect ending to an era.

I'm still wary but more willing than before. I looked into the mirror, fully dressed and with all the features I was complimented on, standing out. I was ready and ready to go.

a tear fell from my eye and ran down my cheek smoothly "they're here, are you good to go?" I saw Callie's reflection in the mirror

"yeah" I sighed, sniffling and wiping the wet away, I walked over to the door behind me, hearing the click of the lock shortly after. I repeated the conversation me and Callie had over in my head to distract me, I was nervous but also excited.

drinking in all of my surroundings as I walked down the stairs, the heroic bunch came into sight and it was silent until the last step where I was right in front of them. "welcome" Tony greeted in his usual tone that I had gotten used to around the house

" too?..." I asked intrigued by his greeting

"The Avengers" the short brunette, said in a 'duh' tone like it was an elephant in the room, I looked past him to see the others with proud faces

"just like that?" I tease, furrowing my eyebrows and tilting my head

"hey, you may be good but you're not that good" Stark replied, I knew our bond would be like this from day one.

"ouch," I fake the hurt in my voice and wipe a 'tear' that only minutes ago was actually on my cheek

"Alright let's go," Scott said like a child excitedly, I looked over my shoulder at Callie with a teary but proud look in her eyes, I looked back and sighed contently "let's go then".

I walked into my new room at the tower, the journey back was already eventful and I missed Callie but I tried pushing that to the back of my mind and looked forward. the room was plain with little decoration, furniture filled with my belongings and a large wall window that looked over a dark forest.

I placed myself at the end of my new bed and took in everything around me, it would take a while to get used to the change and everything else but deep down I knew I would be able to do it.

The realisation hit me that I was now an Avenger and am apart of them now, I felt like I had been struck by lightning. out of the corner of my eye, I saw the frosted glass door crack open ever so slightly, it parted more and more for me to see Steve standing there with a loving look on his face "hi" I said simply with a hint of shyness.

"how are you feeling?" his voice comes through as a lullaby to me

"I'm... good, it's just a shift that I'm adjusting to" I explain to him, I have no clue why but I felt myself starting to get choked up with a lump in my throat

"now the honest answer," Steve said with the slightest smile, turning to face me

I crossed my legs so I was now opposite to him, I looked into his pale blue eyes and tears started rolling down my cheeks slowly "well me and Callie have the closest friendship, I know she's not gone forever but it's weird being away from something or someone that was the only thing you knew for years on end but then I'm happy because I live with my siblings, I'm now an Avenger and ...I'm also closer to you now" I say whilst catching the water droplets with my sleeve

"I know what it feels like to be put into a completely foreign situation, you never get over it but you do get used to it and you don't think about it as new anymore, just wait for that time to come" Steve reassured me, I could tell his words were pure and with good intentions, there was that advice I love so much, right from the beginning.

"thank you, Steve" I sigh putting my hand on top of his

"I'm only next door remember and my lights always on for you, I'm happy you're here" the blonde smiles again, the room halts to a peaceful silence, as more tears fall, my breath rises and falls unsteadily. I felt Steve's arms wrap around me tightly and I couldn't help but fall into his chest and rest my head under his chin, the warmth was comforting and I felt safe like this, the same feeling I've felt every time but it was more intense now. "ad?" Steve murmured into my hair softly, I looked up at him slowly,

"yeah?" I whispered feeling the wetness of his jumper that I caused

"I love you" he stared into my eyes as if he was searching for something he lost, I felt an unbreakable feeling of love with them three words.

"I love you too Steve" the words fell from my lips without hesitation, the look in his eye switched as if he found what he was looking for.
