Earlier today...

"are you alright there soldier?," I asked Steve as I walked over to him, he was watching something on the TV, I rested my head on his shoulder from behind him.

"I'm just thinking about tonight," He said sounding worried

"Hey there's nothing to be worried about" I tried to reassure him making myself sound happier

"Ad I have you now" He excused, it put me at ease knowing we shared the same concern

"you always have" I responded and kissed his cheek

Present time...

I snapped back into reality and watched from on top of the roof at the scene below me. Nat, Scott, Clint, Peter and Pietro were taking people out and I was waiting for my cue to go in. Steve was on the other side of the roof doing the exact same as me, the only thing lighting up the place were the many ceiling lights and the stars in the sky. "Adeline just like we practised" I hear Clint say as my signal, I shattered the glass with one of my hands and levitated myself onto the floor below.

Guards already started surrounding me, I sifted the red sourcery through my fingers then pushed one of my hands forward, sending two of the casually dressed men into an unused barricade against the wall. I repeated the movement until all of them were down, I heard crashes and repulsors whirring around me. "Ad you got something coming up at entrance B, ya thinking of dealing with it anytime soon?" Clint's voice, sarcastically rings through my earpiece

"I was about to big bird" I shoot back at him before running towards that area. A man stood there with a silver gun, radiating purple in his hand, he looked like the guy in charge of all of this "hello princess" he smiled a disgusting smile

"not a princess" I replied through gritted teeth, I condensed my hands together, concentrating the magic harder than before

"what do you need?" he asked unfazed, dropping his hands to his sides

"answers but...i'll get them in a bit," I say dragging out the letters, I push both of my hands out and twisted them sideways "PETER" I shout, needing him to swing by any second. white webs started lassoing in the air and roping around the antihero's torso and arms. Clint's arrows came into view and pinned him to the wall.

I felt Clint, Nat, Scott, Peter, Pietro and Steve circle behind me facing the unknown man "they're all-out cold" Nat mumbles into her wrist

"where did you get them?" Scott asked with a rare and stern voice

"Germany... east" the brute struggled to breathe

"who from?" Steve continued the interrogation. There it is again, that voice.

"Brycin Clor" the old man complied in giving us answers, just on time, the massive doors to the unit opened and masses of people walked in from behind Fury. I watched as they started carrying the weapon-filled crates out, the man himself strutted over to us as we shuffled around "well done, you did it again. I'll take it from here if you want to return to the compound" the man with the eye patch dismissed us, I looked over to the rest of our small group who were nodding their heads already. I guess we're going home.

"how are you feeling love?," I asked Steve as we trailed behind the others on the way to the jet

"I'm relieved that you are safe" his response made me smile knowing that he's now stress-free

"that's what matters, see I told you that you had no reason to worry" I squeeze his arm lightly and look up as we approached the jet,

"need help getting up" Pietro teased, I lifted myself up and stuck my tongue out at him before walking away from the main area.

I got to the secluded area of the 'vehicle' and sat down in the corner. It reminded of how I would use to take my time to breathe and relax after missions "may I join you?" I looked up to the figure leaning against the doorway, Steve loosely strolled over to me "come here" he said as his strong arms stretched towards me, I shuffled forward and let Steve lift me up and put me back down onto his lap, I threw my legs over Steve's lap and wrapped my arms around his neck, letting my face get buried into his neck "what are you doing tomorrow?" I mumbled. It was nice to have a normal conversation.

"I don't know, we have to go over our next move" the blonde mumbled back, I didn't reply to him but I pulled myself closer into his warmth as his arm tightened around my waist and back.

that night we got back late, I was exhausted but happy with how the mission turned out, all I needed was rest.
