"We're doing what?"

I could not believe what Green was saying, there was no way he was saying what I was hearing.

"We're going to try and revive Shadow--Link," Vio added the last part quickly like we didn't already know his nickname for him. No one else knew, but several times I heard him mumble, "Shadow, love," in his sleep, and...they were usually followed by some sort of apology. I wasn't sure if Green knew, but I had told Red. Vio sighed. "Of course, I don't want you anywhere around him if you're gonna be a crapsack to him, so if you seriously don't want to, you don't have to."

"But why are we doing that?"

"Somehow, Vio obtained a shard of the Dark Mirror, so it's possible," Green said.

Maybe he had heard "how" instead of "why," I didn't actually  need to know why, I already knew why. Vio was still moping over him.

"Of course we'll help, that shouldn't even be a question!" Red exclaimed. "Shadow Link was good in the end, right?"

Vio nodded.

I decided to not argue further. Maybe it'd make Vio happy, and Red would guilt trip me later if I didn't say yes.

Red went upstairs--probably to my room, he had been spending a helluva lot more time there than his own, and Green went to his own, but Vio stayed downstairs with me.

"Are you gonna tell Green?" Vio asked.

"Tell Green what?"

"That you slept with Red--"

Before he even finished, I grabbed him by his tunic and slammed him into the wall. It didn't faze him a bit. "I swear to the goddesses, Vio--how the fuck do you know!"

"You aren't very good at hiding it," he said, his tone bored. "I saw you...with him last night in the hallway."

I shouted a cuss word that Red would have scolded me for.

"I mentioned I knew earlier, but you didn't question it," he said. "I also noticed that you called Shadow Link 'Shadow' instead."

"What?! No, I didn't!"

"Yes, you did. 'You were muttering Shadow's name in your sleep,'" he quoted. "You don't need to act so rudely to him, you don't want to, this proves it."

"I heard you telling him you loved him," I fired back. "'Oh, Shadow, I'm so sorry, I can't believe I could ever find it in myself to hurt you, I belong to you, I belong with you, we should be together forever, I love you so much! We should get married!'"

"You called him it again!"

"Because I was mimicking you!"

"Like I ever said anything like that!"

"Those were your exact words, you were asleep!"

"You tell anyone, I'll tell Green you were confessing your undying love to Red."

"No, Vio! Anything but that! I have a rep to uphold!"

"Then never bring him up like that again!" He shouted. "You don't know a damn thing that happened between the two of us!"

I realized I struck a nerve. I had hurt him in a way I shouldn't have. I decided to swallow my pride. "You're right, Vio. I shouldn't act like I know what happened to the two of you."

He softened a bit, only a bit.

"I don't have a right to diss Shadow or your relationship with him," I added. He really did love him.

Like how I loved Red.

Vio nodded. "Its fine, I...got to go now."

He quickly left the room.

Way to fucking go, you fucking short ass fuse.
