"Holy fuck, Shadow!"
He didn't even seem angry, just tired. "What do you want?"
"It's about the—" I didn't finish that sentence. "I was reading about it, and I—would have been great if I was able to bring it here with me, Goddesses. It was talking about some other mirror and—"
"Calm down, you sound crazy," he said.
I tried to breathe, I didn't know why I was so damn excited, but nothing mattered other than telling him this.
"There was another mirror," I started again. "A long time ago? A couple hundred years, there was the hero of twilight and the shadow invasion, some legendary hero went to stop this guy who usurped the throne of another realm so he could wage war on the Light Realm—this realm, like Hyrule. He did it because he was from this race of people who had been banished into this place called the Twilight Realm and he was angry at people from the Light Realm, well, the race was banished with this mirror that transported them there—it was called the Mirror of Twilight."
"And?"
"The Dark Mirror was used, like forever ago, to seal away a dark tribe that was trying to invade Hyrule and take over—which was exactly why the race of people in the Twilight Realm were there, a large group of people created this weapon of mass destruction, they were trying to establish dominion and were banished by the goddesses themselves apparently."
Shadow blinked and then frowned.
"Shadow, I think they're the same thing."
"Shut up," he said, suddenly. He closed his eyes and when he opened them he was biting his lip. "You need to wake up."
"What?"
"They're somewhere nearby."
"They? Those people, you mean, who have something to do with the Dark Mirror?"
"Yeah."
"Do you think they're followers of Ganon?"
"I don't know, they could literally be anyone."
"That's what I'm assuming, I think Ganon had something to do with the Mirror of Twilight some time ago."
"Great, why does any of this matter, though?"
"Because there was another page in the book talking about the Dark Mirror and the Mirror of Twilight, and there's one object that has enough power to revive someone."
"And what's that object?"
"I...don't know. It's in a temple somewhere near our camp, mine and the others. We might be able to find it."
"That's great, but I'm serious, wake up, they're nearby." He turned his head one way and opened his mouth to say something before turning his head the other way. "Aki?"
There was no response.
"Aki? Where are you?" His eyes widened. "Goddesses, Aki!"
"I didn't see her before," I said.
"I did! She was right under that tree, asleep!" He pointed at a tree to his right. "Aki! We need to leave! Now! Where are you? Shit." He turned back to me. "Wake up, wake up, now, Vio."
"But—"
"No, Vio, this may be a dream to you, but they can still hurt you, they can still kill you, wake up."
"But what about you? What about Aki?"
"We'll be fine, I'll find her and we'll leave this part of the forest, again." He muttered a curse word and shouted for Aki again. "They keep finding us...really quickly." He shook his head.
Then there was a scream.
"Goddesses, Aki!" He was already running in the direction of her scream.
I followed him.
