She closely guards the safety of those associated with her
Njenge sikhukhukazi sifulela amaqanda aso
She teaches the ways of the wise
Using Unkulunkulu as a guide
She feeds and clothes her young
While she gently admonishes those who are out of line
Teaches the difference between right and wrong
Unable to do otherwise
She passes the baton to somebody else
Some find her ways stifling
And few find her helpful until she dies
And it becomes too late to thank her
We should therefore be thankful before
It is too late!
