Graduating from U.A. is basically a requirement to becoming a great hero. And so, we held our heads high and marched toward the entrance exams. This was it: the first step towards achieving our dreams of becoming humanities greatest saviors.
Akira sat beside Etsuko, her hands trembling. She was anxious; she didn't want to be a hero per se, but she did want to be part of the world of heroes by helping those in need. This was a good chance to prove herself. She had been troubled with her worth for months now because of the hero program; just as Rakurai and Etsuko, and many others, she has an ambitious dream that she was prepared to fulfill.
The three of them antsily sat, awaiting the introduction to the practical exam. Just as the lights dimmed in the expansial auditorium, Rakurai waved upwardly to chibi, seemingly miles away. The greeting was cut short when the auditorium lights, all round and bright, flicked on, one by one, until they all came to a stop in a straight line, and a gigantic screen's bright display crossed the room. Our eyes adjusted to the suddenness of the intensities, and a booming voice even interrupted that.
"What's up U.A. candidates? Thanks for tuning in to me, your school DJ. C'mon and let me hear ya!" Silence engulfed the room which echoed his loud words.
"Keepin' it mellow, huh? That's fine, I'll skip straight to the main show. Let's talk about how this practical exam is gonna go down, Okay? Are you ready? Yeah!" More silence... Rakurai leaned into Etsuko's shoulder,
"Your brother really has a thing for this guy, huh?" He chuckled.
"Shut up..."
"Like your application said," Present Mic continued, "Today you rockin' boys and girls will be out there conducting ten minute mock battles in super-hip urban settings."
"Gird your loins, my friends,"
The screen displayed the battle centers colorfully, from A to G.
"After I drop the mic here, you'll head over to your specified battle center, sound good?"
The examinees all looked at their cards.
"Hmm..." Rakurai furrowed his brow at his card, and glanced at a few others.
"What is it?"
"They're splitting us up so we can't work with our friends... Our examinee numbers are one after another, but were assigned different battle centers."
"Your right, but both of ours say B." Etsuko breathed a sigh of relief.

"There're three types of faux villains in every battle center."
The screen shifted again, displaying the silhouette of each battle bot.
"You'll get points based on their level of difficulty so better choose wisely." Present Mic pointed all across the crowd.
"Your goal in this trial is to use your quirk to raise your score by shredding these faux villains like a mid-song guitar solo! But check It! Make sure you're keeping things heroic; attacking other examinees is a U.A. no-no, ya dig?" The pro hero spoke with his hands dramatically.
"Excuse me, sir, but I have a question." a tall, stiff boy stood as his deep voice shot through the auditorium. His deep blue hair shone under the light, and his red eyes pierced down at the pro.
"Hit me!"
"On the print out, you be listed four types of faux villains, not three. With all respect; if this is an error on official U.A. materials, it is shameful. We are exemplary students, we expect the best from Japan's most notable school; a mistake such as this just won't due."
The boy went on in his quite entitled tone.
"Additionally," the boy shot a finger toward another behind him, his wild green hair sticking close to his head, yet all over, and his plump cheeks held freckles.
"You with the unkempt hair. You be been muttering this entire time. Stop that... if you can't bother to take this seriously, then leave; you're distracting the rest of us." Being concerned about a mistake on high-standard material is one thing, but demanding someone in such a manner is another. He was quite rude, Etsuko thought, folding her card neatly, as she never noticed the boy with the wild hair. Rakurai saw her eyes piercing into the blue haired ass, hoping she wouldn't say anything about the entire situation, which kind of didn't matter.
"Sorry..." the green haired boy muttered, growing anxious under the other boy's gaze. Before Etsuko could stand, the pro began to speak again,
"Alright, alright. Examines number 7-1-1-1: Thanks for calling in with your request."
"The fourth villain type is worth zero points. That guys just and obstacle well be throwing in your way. There's one in every battle center. Think of it as a hurdle you should try to avoid; it's not that it's unbeatable, but... There's kinda no point."
"I recommend my listeners try to avoid it and focus on the ones toppin the charts!"
"Thank you." The blue haired boy sat. Hopefully he didn't jam that stick up farther, Etsuko thought...
"So they're kinda like traps you have to get through in a video game?" Rakurai whispered.
"The whole thing is kinda like a video game, huh?" Etsuko chuckled.
"That's all I got for you today. I'll sign off with a little present: a sample of our school motto!
As this dude once put down, "a true hero is one who overcomes life's misfortunes." Mm-hm, now that's a tasty soundbit. You ready to go beyond? Let's hear a plus ultra!!!" Present Mic's voice filled the room and dipped into every last examinees ear.
"Hope you've practiced hitting more than just books!" Present Mic pointed up into the sea of potential pupils. With that, the examinees prepared to battle.
