Prologue: My Dream

For as long as I could remember, I've wanted to be a hero... I've always had this phantom of a feeling that I absolutely needed to fulfill this very important task, so much so, that it ached within me. I've always felt that if I didn't, something in the world would fall out of line, and I wouldn't be able to stop it if I hadn't grasped onto this dream, this need.

Becoming a hero has become more than just a goal.
This desire was a commitment I made myself just not too long ago... It's a sentimental promise I made to a woman I once knew, who absolutely adored me. Maybe it's her who is laying the path of heroism before me, the phantom who pushes me forward, and teaches me to walk the path of righteousness, step by step.
I recall just one thing of my mother: her voice; what she said is what fuels this urge.
I see her smiling warmly, looking upon me, Her gaze cast downward.
"Maybe one day, you will become a hero, and save others. Whether it be with the power of your heart, or with your strength, because that's just what heroes do, my love. Maybe, even more than just a hero..." I always tried my best to remember what she said just thereafter, putting forth so much effort to the point my head spun in wide circles.
My mother had died when I was just young. Just a few days after I had turned two years of age, my mother passed in the line of duty...

Although, it isn't only my mother who gives me the will to strive, it is my father as well: the No. 3 Pro Hero, Cyclone.
My father's been in the line of hero duty ever since I was born, and even way before that. He owns his own pro hero agency, and was actually claimed one of the youngest pro heroes to operate an agency at the time before Hawks.
He's constantly endeavored to be the best he could be for as long as I've known him, putting others before himself... doing all he can, even if it meant overexerting himself to the point of exhaustion, or facing death directly in the eyes. It was all to save the world from the evil that blend in with society, slipping through the cracks of the world, but his time would come to an end once he began abandoning his family for more civic duties.
Even my elder brothers take the time to be sure that I am safe; it's a shame my father pushed them away with his... criticism.
My parents are my reason to become the best that I can be, and rise to success, just to reach the light that they've shown the world. I'd like to hold that light in my hands for as long as I can, I just need to grow tall enough to reach it.
This light is the hope that the superhuman give to the people of this world; little do the people know, they are our light, our hope and will to create the heaving steps to the top, to the light they need us to hold...
My name is Etsuko Saigo, and this is my story to becoming a pro hero.
