Jungkook paced back and forth in the kitchen, a curious Jimin watching him as he did so. He sat on stool near the counter, legs dangling as he fiddled with his thumbs."Kookie." Jungkook flinched, as he took his hand away from biting at his nails. He slowly turned around, facing the bot near him.
Jimin watched him with a sad stare, eyes glossy and lip pouting. He was here, here with him. Why couldn't he see that?
Jungkook stayed still, eyes intensifying on Jimin.
There was no way, no way that it could be. It's a glitch, it's got to be a glitch. Jungkook couldn't stop these thoughts as they ran through his mind.
Jimin took it upon himself to jump off the stool, walking slowly towards Jungkook.
Jungkook who began to shake, feeling his anxiety kicking in once more. It felt all too much, too much for him to handle. What were you supposed to do when your AI claimed to be your dead boyfriend?
"Hey." Jimin cooed as he stopped in front of the younger, placing his hands on his face and making him look at him. He pulled his head down pressing their foreheads together, his thumbs gently swiping against the side of his face.
"You're okay." Jimin whispered,"calm down."
And it was like magic. Jungkook instantly stopped shaking, and his heart rate slowed letting him take a breath in. He felt tears prick at the corner of his eyes.
"It really is you," he choked, breath shaky as he began to cry.
"How, it's not possible, how could it be?"Jimin slowly walked the younger backwards towards the stool he recently sat on. As he reached it, he gently pushed Jungkook back, making him take a seat. The older took it upon himself to push himself closer, using his hands to push the youngers knees gently away so he can take his place in between them.
He ran his hands softly up the side of Jungkooks thighs, fingers skimming over gently. It wasn't meant to be sexual in any way, just a small calming gesture and it worked.
Jimin leaned up, pressing a kiss to the side of his face, his lips ghosting over the skin along his jaw. He left small, sweet and gentle pecks—mumbling sweet words that seemed to relax Jungkook more then he thought it could.
Jungkook fluttered his eyes shut, a sight of contempt leaving his lips.
"I was here the whole time..." Jimin whispered then, and Jungkook nodded slightly.
"But I couldn't see, barely hear, it was like I was stuck in a time loop. Reliving certain moments of my life over and over.
I thought I was dead. Thought that, maybe that was what the afterlife was like–a repeating of life events all up until your sent somewhere even farther than death. Somewhere only you can imagine."
Jimin gulped, as he pushed himself closer, forehead now resting on Jungkooks shoulder as he spoke.
"Then all of a sudden I saw light, like I was waking up. But I could only see. It was dark, but I saw you. Standing there in front of me and I was so relieved. Though..."
Jimin lifted his head, making eye contact with the now soft gaze of Jungkook.
"I wasn't looking through my eyes. And I don't think I have a lot of time before he comes back."
Jungkook gulped.
"You mean the AI." Jimin nodded.
He lifted his hand, pushing Jungkooks hair out of his face and gave him a small smile.
"I don't think he's bad, and I know you have a lot of questions. For now just wait, and take care of the other one until I can come out again. I'll try to explain as much as I can then."
Jimins eyes flashed over once more and the older gave Jungkook a sad smile.
"He's just as lost and scared as I am." His voice wavered then, and Jungkook gulped as he sat forward reaching out for Jimin.
Jimin leaned forward too, pressing his lips against Jungkooks, and Jungkook sighed kissing him back softly. His hands reached up, caressing the sides of Jimins face as he suddenly felt his tears.
If only time could stop, or go backwards. All Jungkook ever wanted was to just be with Jimin—fate always seemed to enjoy punishing Jungkook. He felt his heart crack once more in nearly a thousand ways, longing for the love of someone who's there but not there in all physically.
"J-Jungkook. " the other mumbled then, voice laced in sadness and confusion. Jungkook cried then, though he didn't pull away. He merely kissed him more, grasping, longing and reaching for anything. The AI gasped lightly as Jungkook bit his bottom lip gently, his lips becoming more needy as he kissed him.
Once Jungkook pulled away out of breath, Jimins eyes were wide, head tilted as he stared at him innocently.
"What was that?"
It was then only that Jungkook chuckled lightly as he leaned forward, resting his forehead on Jimins chest as he chuckled.
First he was crying, heart shattered and lost, then the next he was merely laughing light heartedly. The AI couldn't understand him in that moment.
The AI took it upon himself to grasp Jungkooks face and lift it up to his eye level, Jungkook took note that his eyes were back to the usual colour once more, and Jimin raised an eyebrow.
"Are you...okay?"
Jungkook stopped giggling then, face fallen as he sighed, shaking his head slightly. Jimin frowned, he had a lot of questions but at the moment he needed to take care of the one in front of him.
"No, I really ain't."
Jungkook bit his lip, staring at Jimin as he reached forward, grasping onto the AI and caressing him into a hug.
"I'm not okay."
And that was the first time he's spoken it out loud, always numbing over and refusing to see what he really felt all those months, and as he said it he felt a new found relief that he just couldn't explain.
