It was 3 hours later and we were still sitting outside. All the teachers were calling parents and more police arrived to ask questions.

"We still don't know who did it! We probably asked about every kid here, but no one will own up to it!", the officer says. "The kid could've died! He lost a lot of blood", the nurse says. "It's alright. We'll punish every single one of these kids until someone owns up to it. I don't care if it will be a year until they do, every. kid. will. be. punished.", the principal says firmly.

I was just secretly listening in to their conversation until I saw Alex rush out of the building. He sits down next to us.

"Dude, where have you been?", Elijah asks. "I was in the bathroom", Alex says. "For 3 hours?", Denis asks. "Uhh...yeah", Alex replies. "Uhm, okay...", Sub says. "Alex, you know that you're making a bad impression on our new friend right?", Denis asks. "N-no! I-It's fine...", I say, shyly," It really is.." "See he doesn't care! Besides, I'm not always like this", Alex sassily says. "Mhm", Elijah says, rolling his eyes. "I'm not! I can be the sweetest person ever!", Alex says. "Riiiight", Sub says. "Whatever, jerks", Alex says, rolling his eyes.

An officer and a girl, with blonde hair, comes up to us. "It was him! I think he punched Kyle! I remember seeing him in the fight!", the girl says, pointing to me. "Are you sure?", the officer asks. "Yes, he definetly punched him", another girl with blonde hair and purple tips. I look at them with a confused, but mostly horrified, face.

"I-it wasn't me", I say. "It was you! Don't lie!", the girl with purple and blonde hair says. "Actually...it was me...", Alex says. He stands up. "And before you blame my friend, get your fucking facts straight, Lisa!", Alex snaps. Lisa looked at him with a disgusted look.

"Hey! Watch your language young man", the officer says. "So, did we find out who did it?", the principal says, walking over to us. "Yes, it was this young man", the officer says. "Oh! I remember you! you're the guy who almost set the school on fire", she says. Alex blushes.

"It wasn't on purpose...", he says. "Well, you're coming with me", she says. They walk into the building.

"Wait, Alex almost set the school on fire?", Sub asks. "Yeah, don't you remember?", Elijah asks. "This happened in like the 3rd grade, Sub", Denis says. "Oh yeaaah, he did!", Sub says, laughing," That was hilarious""What did he do?", I ask.

"Okay, so we were having a talent show and Alex was going to do a flaming juggling trick", Sub says. "Don't ask how that's even possible", Elijah says. I giggle a little. "So, once it was his turn to go up on stage, he couldn't do the trick correctly", Sub continues," He got so mad that he threw one of the flaming balls into the flag, and then that caught on fire, and everything else caught on fire." "It was pretty crazy", Denis says, laughing," and kinda cool at the same time since we got to get out of school" "Uhm, have you guys noticed that we're almost the only people here", Elijah says. I look around to see about 5 groups of people still sitting outside.

"Maybe they went home", Denis says. "Well then, I'm going home too!", Sub says. "I would go home but that would be like a 1 hour walk, since I usually ride the bus", Elijah says," Also, I'm lazy" "Lucky me, I live right across the street from the school", Sub says, sticking out his tongue. "I hate you", Elijah says, smiling and playfully punchig his arm. "Well, since me, you, and Braden live in the same neighborhood", Denis starts," Then maybe we could all walk home together" Elijah groans. "But why? It's going to take forever!" "I have my phone with me. I could call my-", I get cut off by a car horn.

"Braden!", my mom says, getting out of the car and running up to me and hugging me. I blush. "Mom...let go", I say shyly. "Are you okay?", she asks. I nod. "What happened?", she asks. "One of my friends punched someone and knocked them out", I say. "Your...friend?", she asks blankly. "Yes...", I reply, still feeling a little embarrassed. She stops hugging me. "Your friend?!", she asks again. "Yes mom", I say, sounding a little confused. She frowns a little.

"Okay, whatever", she says", Let's go home!" "Wait!", I say, stopping her," Can I take my friends with me? They live in the same neighborhood as us", I plead. She looks behind me. "Oh, I didn't even see them there!", she says, chuckling a little," Hi!"

Denis, Elijah, and Sub wave. "Hi!", Denis says, smiling sweetly. "I guess they could come with us", she says. I smile a little. We all get into the car, except Sub since his house is right across the street from the school.

"So, how was your guys' day", my mom asks. "Awesome!", Elijah replies," But only because we get to get out of school early" She laughs a bit. "Of course" "My day is going well", Denis says politely. "I'm glad!", my mom replies. We finally arrive at my house.

"Where do you guys live?", my mom asks. "We live on the other street across from this one", Denis says. "Oh, okay!", my mom says. "Let's go, Denis! I wanna get home", Elijah complains. "Okay, fine", Denis says. "Bye, Braden!" He smiles, and him and Elijah walk home.

"You have some really nice friends", my mom says, while unlocking the door. "Uhm, yeah...", I say," But I just met them like..an hour ago" "So?", she asks. "So, I'm not sure what they're really like", I say. We walk into the house. "Well you're right. They might turn our to be one those fake friends", she says. I frown.

"Maybe..", I say. "Also, I see that you don't have you're flower crown?", my mom says, sounding a little confused. "It's only because someone took it off my head and stomped on it", I sigh," But I did have another one" "Another one?!", she asks, worried," You took another flower  rown to school?!" "No, that not what I meant", I say. "What?", she asks. I sigh.

"Well, my friend, Denis, made me another one out of paper, but that one got ripped", I say. She frowns. "Who's Denis?", she asks. "The tall boy that was riding home with us", I say," He is so sweet and polite" She frowns even more. I didn't realize that I was smiling and blushing until now. "I-I...uhm...I should probably go to my room now", I say, going up the stares", still blushing. "No, young man", she says, sighing", We need to have a talk!" "About?", I ask. "About you! Everything about you! Everything about you is so...wrong! You shouldn't be acting like this", she says, sounding a little anxious. I give her a confused look.

"Uh...what?!", I ask, walking back down the stairs," What are you talking about?" "You'll see", she says," Now come and sit down, you're dad is on his way"
