Potential Bad News

"Guess who's baaack!", Alex says, sassily walking to our table. "Alex?! I thought you were suspended!," Sub exclaims. "I waaas, but, since I'm such a good student", he says, sarcastically," They let me have one week but have 3 more weeks of detention." "Well, at least we get to see you around and at lunch," Elijah says. "True", Alex says.  "Uhm...have you guys seen Denis?", I ask. "Nope", Sub says,"Did you not see him this morning?" "No...", I say. "This is the second day he's done this," Sub says," First Friday, and now today!" Elijah smirks. "He's probably getting Braden another gift", he teases. "Braden, I heard that you and Denis are a thing now," Alex says. I blush. "W-what?!", I say," No we're not!" "Seems like it!", Sub says," I mean, you two only met a week ago and you're already acting like best friends, or better yet, boyfriends!" I blush even more.

"I mean...We do like each other", I say shyly," But he hasn't even officially asked me out...." "Well, maybe he's just waiting for the right moment", Elijah says. "Speaking of right moment...", Alex says, watching a guy with light brown hair and circular glasses walk by," I'm thinking of asking out Garrett." He giggles a little and waves at him. "Hey, Garrett", Alex teases. "Hey, Alex", he says, smiling and walking past. "He is a daddy.", Alex says, smirking. "Jeezus...", Elijah says, facepalming. Sub fake gags.

"Ew, no! He's not the right man for you!", he says," He hangs out with those bullies!" "So?!", Alex says, slamming his hand on the table," He's not a bully! He is a very cute, funny, and sweet boy! And you can't change my mind!" He crosses his arms. "I would feel bad for him", Elijah says," He's so sweet and innocent but you're just so...mean and rude and salty and...and bossy!" Alex dramatically gasps. "Ex-squeeze me?! I am the most nicest person probably in this whole cafeteria!", he says. Sub laughs. "You got jokes. Hilarious!", he says, sarcastically. Alex crosses his arms and mutters some swear words that I'd rather not say.

"Hey guys...", a voice sadly says. It was Denis. He sits down next to me and puts is head on ny shoulder. "Aww, what happened?", Alex asks. Denis sits his head up. "Oh, uhm..I'll tell you guys later," he says. "I have a question!", Alex says," Are you and Braden dating?" Denis blushes.

"Alex, you can't just blurt out questions like that!", Sub says. "Uhm, it's an important question!", Alex exclaims," It's not like I'm asking them to kiss or anything!" "Uhm, I mean...", Denis starts," I guess not?" "You sound unsure...", Alex says. "They're probably friends with benefits!", Elijah says. "Or, they wanna keep it a secret and not tell us", Sub says. "They might as well, I mean, we're going to figure it out sooner or later", Alex says. "Can we stop talking about this?," Denis asks, rolling his eyes. "Fine," Alex says.

"Welp, bye", Elijah says. Everyone goes their seperate ways to their classes.

It's my first class of the day and as usual, I'm not paying attention. Instead, I'm doodling in my little notebook. I notice this little yellow sticky note hanging from my notebook. I read it.

You are the one for me. My day would not be complete without seeing you. You are my love and maybe soon to be my life. I want to be with you. I just don't know how to come up to you and just...say it. I don't know how to ask you. This is my second way of saying 'I love you'. I'm thinking of a beautiful and unique way of asking you out. I can't wait to hold your hand everyday, I can't wait to have you in my arms everyday. I love you, pastel prince.

What do they mean by 'second way of saying I love you'. I start to blush a little. "Braden?! What's the answer?", I hear all of sudden. "W-what?", I ask, looking up. My teacher, Mr. Bay, was pointing to a question on the board. "Oh uhm...I...I uhm...don't know...", I say. "Not paying attention I see...", he says, See me after class!"
