"Hey! I'm home!", my dad says, bursting into the door. "Hey sweetie!", my mom says," cmon on and sit down! We need to talk to our son" "Oh god, not this again", he says. Again? What does he mean by again?!

"Uhm...what is happening?", I ask. I was a little scared. Am I in trouble. Will I be grounded? "Okay, Braden, we need to talk to you", she says. "I mean...you don't need to but okay", I say sarcastically. I lay back in the chair with my arms crossed. They both look at each other and exchange looks.

"Uhm...okay...where should I start?", she asks, herself. "We could start with how girly he's been acting!", my dad says", You've been dressing like a girl, acting like a girl, walking like a girl. I mean like, cmon! You bascially should've been born a girl!" I roll my eyes. "Yeah, that's what you think!", I say," Wearing a light shade of pink and blue, and any other colors is okay! It's just pastel! I like colorful things like rainbows and unicorns, and stuff things so called 'girls' like. Boys can like those things too! It's valid!" They look at me kind of shocked. My mom sighs.

"But, when you were younger...you liked cars, and spaceships, and...and playing outside", she says in a soft tone. "Actually, I hated those things!", I say," You guys forced me into trying like those things! I only pretended to like those things because I wasn't trying to get my ass whooped if I asked for 'girly' toys or something" My mom turns a dark shade of red.

"Watch your language!", my dad says,"But you're right! We did try to force you like boy things because boys should like boy things, like fixing cars, or playing with trucks!" I turn red. "No!", I say, raising my voice", Girls can like those things too. That's the thing I hate about you guys! You think boys and girls should do and act a certain way! But no! Gender roles and stereotypes are stupid, just like you guys! Just like how you guys say 'boys should not like boys' is problematic! Boys and girls can like the same gender!" "No, that is not true! Boys should like girls and girls should like boys. There's no both or same gender stuff going on, especially in this house!", my dad says," And people who do supposedly like the same gender or both, they need help and special attention!" I turn even redder. I can feel myself breathing harder and clenching my fists. Luckily, I could keep it together.

"That...is...not...true!", I say, angrily", That isn't true! And I'm guessing you're calling your own son stupid!" I didn't mean for that last part to slip out. My dad stays silent, and I turn pink. "Excuse me?", my says," What?" "I-", I get cut off. "I knew it! I knew it, I knew it! Our son needs help! He likes boys!", my dad says. My mom's eyes widen. "What?!", she asks, still looking very clueless. "Okay maybe I am", I say," But so what?! I'm your freakin son!" "So? I mean...we coukd disown you", my dad says. I don't say anything.

"Honey look, what we're trying to say is that we want you to change, at least try to like girls, maybe date one and give it a try!", my mom says," We're tired of you looking like a guy lesbian!" "I have dated a girl before because you guys forced me remember?! And I told you that I didn't want to date girls, and I hated it. That was the worse relationship that I have ever been in", I say," And I can like whoever I want!" "But why, son? What made you start acting like this?!", my dad asks. I sigh.

"Because, when we visited grandma years ago", I start", I told her that I was unhappy that I didn't feel lieke me. So she told me 'be yourself!' And ever since then, I have been myself, but you guys hate it and don't support it!" "That's only because you need help!", my mom says. "No I don't! You guys don't understand!", I say, starting to tear up," You never listen to me! You won't understand and you'll never understand!" Tears start rolling down my face.

I run upstairs into my room and slam the door.

~2 hours later~

"Hey, Braden...I didn't see you at the bus stop today", Andrew says, bursting into my room. "Get out", I say, into my pillows. "Where were you? I thought you got bus left", he says. "Go away!", I yell into my pillows. "You know, I never noticed how girly your room looked", he says. "Okay, know you're just trying to annoy me", I say, sitting up,"What do you want?" "Oh that's all!", he says," Also, I saw the people we say this morning. They were going to the park! They said to meet them there"

"Okay..",I say, sounding confused. He leaves my room. I wonder what they want.
