This Is Me

Natsu and I

   So Natsu and I, we're best friends. But people ship us as a couple saying NaLu and stuff. But I don't think I can ever like him like that. 
  Ever since the first day I met him, we just grew closer and closer each day. I did end up telling him my back story, and he thought that I was the most interesting person on earth. That boy, I swear.
  Natsu means everything to me at the moment, he knows everything little thing about me already. And I pretty know everything about him too.
  He's the one who got me out of that depression state when literally my friends back home couldn't. I know I moved, but I'd be dumb if I didn't keep in contact with them. I mean c'mon!! I grew up with them in school! So anyways, I guess that's why people think we're dating or should be dating. Because we're so close and sometimes Natsu will finish my sentence..... i punch him in the arm when he does. It throws me off.
  So today, before I went to school my father hit me for not doing something. When I didn't do anything wrong. I walked to school after, and just was... oh. I don't know. Lost? I don't know why I'd feel lost..
anyways, I saw Natsu at the door and he hugged me.
I flinched and he looked at me funny.
   "What's the matter?"
   "Nothing why?"
   "Uhh you flinched like I hurt you or something?"
   "Oh sorry.. didn't mean for that to happen.." I tried laughing off
Natsu looked right through me, and forcefully took off my jacket.
   "Natsu!! What the heck!!"
   "What do you mean 'what the heck'!? You have a fucking bruise on your arm, and I can tell it's fresh by the red print of something over it."
   "It's not a big deal, can I please have my jacket back?"
   "Not a big deal my ass. That bruise right there!!! Is so purple and blue, it looks like it's been hit upon so many times you could get amputated!! What the hell is going on at home?!" Natsu's pointing at my bruise, and he's very mad. Never seen him this mad before other then him mad at Gray all the time.
   "It's fine, it'll heal back. Give it time." I faked a smile.
   "Lucy!" He glared right into my eyes, and I know he won't let this go.
   " my dad.."
   "Again!? Do I need to call the cops!"
   "No!! That'll make it worse please don't and could you keep your voice down."
   "Fine but promise right now."
   "Promise you what?"
   " just do it. I can't let you back out now."
   "What's the promise?!"
   "Can't tell you, unless you promise me."
   "You're not gonna let it go are you?"
   "No sir-ree."
   "Fine I promise."
   "Good, after school we're going to your house packing your stuff and you're moving in with me!"
   "WAIT WHAT!?"
He left me without an explanation or anything. I just watched him in astonishment walk through the school doors.
   My dad is going to be pissed.
I run after him and grab ahold of his hood
"Natsu!! I can't do that, he's going to get really pissed!"
"Too laaate, you promised."
"Well to be fair, you didn't tell me!"
Natsu turned toward me suddenly and grabbed my face to look me straight in the eye "Lucy I'm sick of you getting hurt by somebody who's suppose to be protecting you, no one including a girl should never be hurt by somebody's own hand." He let's go of my face and walks away again.
I came to reality and realized my heart was beating a little fast due to the sudden seriousness Natsu just did. I chase after him again to catch up to him because we have first period together.
I look down to my feet and Natsu put his right arm around my shoulders and neck.
"Thank you Natsu, for caring so much about me..." I whispered
"What are best friends for!" He answered back
We get into class and take our seats, I looked towards Erza who is texting her crush and I threw a piece of paper to catch her attention.
   "Hey!"
   "Hey you! Just ask him out already!"
   "Uhhh how'd you-"
   "Erza we're best friends.. of course I would know."
   "Okay, Okay, But when it comes to him I can't do anything. I'm pretty strong I can beat up anybody, but when it comes to him I freeze."
   "You want me to text him for you?!" I said excitedly.
   "Uh no... I'm going at my own pace.." she quickly put her phone into her pocket and I looked back at Natsu you was staring at me gloomily.
   "What's wrong Natsu?.."
   "Nothing..." he snapped out of his trance and started to listen to the teacher who just walked in.

   The school day ends, and I tried my hardest to beat Natsu and leave for home by myself quickly as I can. But once a promise is made with Natsu he's determined not matter what. I hear a voice behind me very annoyed.
   "Where the heck are you going Lucy Heartfilia!?" And it was Natsu.
   "Uhhhh- i thought you left without me!" I turned around to face him and me trying to make an excuse is pitiful.
   "Rigggggght... c'mon we have packing to do. Good thing I drove myself today!"
   "Great you drove yourself today." I said sarcastically.
   We get to my house and Natsu knows the way to my room all too well, I never understood why my dad was okay with letting me have Natsu over. But when I ask for something simple like a signature for an assignment, he gets mad and beats me.
   Natsu grabs the boxes that I never threw out from under my bed and started packing my clothes in my closet. I sit on my bed watching him.
   "What are you doing sitting there? C'mon we have packing to do!"
   "Yeah.." tears start to rush out
Natsu hurriedly came to me on his knees and starts wiping them for me. "What's wrong?! Why you crying?"
   "I'm grateful for you doing this for me.. I never understood why my father beats me for nothing. I guess he just thinks I killed mom and that's why he's doing this to me. It's always so tense here and I all do is stay in this room doing nothing but homework and talking to you."
   "That's the reason why I'm doing this, you don't need to be alone anymore. You got me now. You've always had me." He smiles gently for me, and I smiled a little bit back.
   "What if you get a girlfriend?"
   "Pfft, like I need one."
  "Natsu I'm serious, what will happen?"
   "Don't worry about the 'What if' situations, come on let's get packing right now before your dad notices."
   "Okay.." I get up and get another box out, I go to my dresser and starting packing there. Soon all my clothes are packed  and then it's on to my makeup, toiletries, special items, and all sorts of Knick knacks.
   Natsu grabs all the boxes and puts them in the car. We get into the car as well, and as we drive down the rode, we pass my dad who didn't even notice us. I'm just hoping he won't chase after me and lord who knows what he'll do to me
