The Day That Never Comes

One early morning, Gerard woke up to a feeling that was somewhat strange and unfamiliar to him. Someone was holding him. But who?

Looking over his shoulder, he was actually relieved to find that it was only Frank, who was cuddled up against him, fast asleep.

Turning back around, Gerard sighed quietly to himself. Lately, him and Frank had been sleeping in the same bed together. Every night, Frank would lie down next to Gerard and put his arms around him in a comforting, protective way, which Gerard surprisingly enjoyed. He really did love sleeping with Frank at night, because he truly did love him.

However, there was still that part of him that wanted to push Frank away and resist his touch. It was that side that regretted dropping the knife and letting Frank live the night they went outside. In a way, that was his sane side, but what he didn't realize was that it was slowly fading away the more time he spent with Frank.

After a few minutes of waking up in bed, Gerard crawled out from Frank's arms, and made his way downstairs, trying not to wake him up. He wanted to be by himself for a bit, and he knew Frank would follow him if he were to wake up.

Being by himself in the house was nice, but very rare. Frank was almost always around, making sure to keep a close eye on him, so he wouldn't try to escape. Most of the time, he barely left the same room as Gerard, and even when he actually did, Gerard knew he was close by. He could feel him secretly watching from a distance.

Once downstairs, Gerard gathered his art supplies and sat down at the dining room table by himself. After flipping to an empty page in his sketchbook, he began randomly drawing and thinking some more.

He still hated the fact that he loved Frank, but he knew there was nothing he could do to stop himself from feeling that way. He just hoped his love for Frank wouldn't get in the way again if he were somehow given another chance to escape. That was his reasoning for why he was trying to keep things calm between the two of them. He forced himself to distance himself a bit from Frank, so that his feelings and emotions wouldn't distract him, but while still making sure Frank stayed content.

However, Gerard was starting to lose hope. The day he'd be able to finally be free from Frank almost seemed nonexistent. Most of the time he felt as though he'd be trapped in the house with him for eternity. It drove him crazy. The walls seemed to be closing in on him more and more by the day, and only being able to talk with Frank made matters worse. Quite honestly, Gerard wouldn't be surprised if he ended up as insane as Frank. In fact, he was expecting it if no one came to his rescue soon.

Once almost an hour had past by of Gerard drawing peacefully by himself, Frank woke up startled that Gerard was no where in sight. With a wave of panic coming over him, he threw himself out of bed, prepared to search every inch of the house for him.

"Where is he? Did he escape? Did someone take him away? Where is Gerard? Fuck, oh fuck, I have to find him".

Frantically, Frank rushed downstairs, calling out for Gerard. When he heard Gerard's voice call back to him, he immediately followed it. Bursting into the dining room, Frank eyes widened as he spotted Gerard sitting safely at the table. He was here. He was fine.

"Gerard!" Frank enthused, running to him and embracing him in a tight hug. Gerard hugged back with a warm smile, even though he was slightly annoyed that the time he had by himself had been so brief. "I was so worried that something had happened to you when I woke up to an empty bed".

"I just came downstairs, Frank," Gerard informed him, "It's not really that big of a deal".

"Yes, it is," Frank replied sternly. "I need to be with you at all times. If something happened to you, I don't know what I'd do. You're mine, Gerard. I won't let anyone take you away from me, and if they try I'll kill them slowly and painfully so they'll regret it".

Gerard's smile slowly disappeared after that. He knew Frank meant well, and assumed that he couldn't possibly be serious, but something in the tone of his voice made Gerard think otherwise. Honestly, it scared him. Frank was clearly obsessed with him, but it seemed to be getting too extreme. Of course, kidnapping was definitely extreme, but it was harmless in Gerard's case. He was safe with Frank, but anyone who tried to help him certainly wasn't.

"Don't worry", Gerard said, looking him in the eyes and forcing his smile to return. "I promise you I'm not going anywhere". The worry left Frank's face with that comment and was replaced by happiness once again, which Gerard was thankful for. He didn't need Frank getting all worked up, because he knew the bad things that could happen if he did.

"Oh Gerard, you have no idea how much I love you," Frank gushed. Gently, he caressed the side of Gerard's cheek and leaned down to kiss him on the lips. Gerard blushed in surprise, and kissed back softly, knowing that he shouldn't have been enjoying the kiss as much as he was.

With Gerard willingly kissing back, Frank started kissing him harder while trailing his hands down his body. Suddenly, he bit Gerard's lip causing a quiet moan to accidentally escape him.

Frank was just as surprised as Gerard was at that moment. Gerard hadn't ever moaned before, or really shown any signs that he wanted Frank to continue whatever it was he was doing. It only made Frank smirk having known that Gerard was finally where he wanted him to be.

"Why do you have to be so pretty?" Frank whispered into Gerard's ear making him shiver and nervously shift a bit in his chair. There was a moment of uncomfortable silence after that, but Frank soon made Gerard fill it with his shy giggles when he started running his hand through his hair. "You and your lovely red hair are just... stunning".

Kneeling down in front of Gerard, Frank started running his hand up Gerard's inner thigh while staring him in the eyes. Gerard's breathing intensified as he watched Frank. He should've been trying to stop him, but something about being trapped inside those shrinking walls with the maniac he just so happened to be in love with convinced him not to.

Suddenly, Frank winced and squeezed his eyes shut, "Ow, why is it so bright out?" Confused, Frank looked out the nearby window. Gerard watched him curiously, trying to figure out what the hell he was talking about. "Something in the grass out there is reflecting the sunlight," Frank observed. "That's weird".

That's when Gerard's heart sank. The knife. It was still hidden in the grass outside where he had dropped it. That had to have been what was reflecting the light into Frank's eyes. As the panic settled in with Gerard, Frank rose to his feet and wandered towards the window to try to get a closer look. Gerard kept silent, hoping Frank would simply pass it off as nothing. Unfortunately, he didn't get so lucky.

"Stay here, I'm going to go check it out," Frank announced as he walked out of the room towards the back door.

"No Frank! Please don't leave me all alone. I don't want to be without you..." Gerard cried out, trying to stop Frank from going outside. He sounded pathetic, but he couldn't possibly let Frank find that knife.

"It's okay, Gee," Frank replied calmly. "I'll only be gone for a minute".

Gerard opened his mouth the protest, but his mind blanked out. He had no excuses. So, as Frank began to open the door, Gerard did the only thing he could possibly think of; he grabbed ahold of Frank's arm and pulled him back towards himself.

"Gerard!" Frank called out, clearly annoyed. "Why is this such a big deal to you?"

"Because I-I... I want to continue what we were doing," Gerard spat out in desperation.

Frank chuckled, "I do too, but I promise we'll continue later. Maybe somewhere more appropriate too... like my bedroom".

Gerard blushed bright red, and suddenly his mind was filled with dirty, distracting thoughts that he knew he shouldn't have been thinking about.

In that brief moment, Frank sassily blew Gerard a kiss and pried his hand off of his arm, which surprisingly, Gerard couldn't prevent from happening. Frank was strangely stronger than he looked. Then, he quickly slipped outside, and locked the door to prevent Gerard from following him.

Gerard couldn't even watch. Instead, he left the room, trembling in fear of what Frank would do to him when he found out about the knife.
