So, I had a dream about this fanfic in which it ended differently and more... happily, so I decided to make it a reality. I actually like this new ending more, and it makes it possible for there to be a potential sequel (please tell me if you would want me to write that!). I got rid of the old one all together, but hopefully you'll like this one much better.

As Frank and Gerard ran hand in hand for their lives, Gerard couldn't help but start to giggle. Such a thrill of excitement filled him knowing he was reunited with his soulmate. He didn't care what was going on outside anymore, as long as they were together again.

"Gerard, why are you laughing at a time like this?" Frank asked in disbelief.

Squeezing Frank's hand tighter, he replied, "Because you're back".

Frank's instantly blushed red as he smiled sweetly. Leave it to Gerard to make any situation better.

After what felt like endless running, the two of them finally reached Frank's car. Freedom felt so close and within their grasp now.

Quickly, they jumped in the car and were able to start the it without having any issues. After they began to drive off, the police sirens slowly faded away completely. This was almost going too perfectly.

When a couple minutes of driving had passed, Frank noted that it had become absolutely silent. There were no sirens, no shouting, no worries. He could only hear the faint, calming sound of Gerard's breathing alongside him.

"We did it Gerard," Frank softly told him. Gerard's head slowly turned to face him, happy tears filling his shimmering, hazel eyes. Despite the fact that Frank was in the middle of driving, Gerard leaned over and hugged him tightly. Then, just as he pulled away, he snuck a kiss on Frank's cheek, causing him to grin widely.

"Where are we going?" Gerard asked, his voice clearly filled with excitement.

"I have a motel we can stay at," Frank explained. "It's a bit of a drive, but I think it's far enough away that we'll be safe for the night".

Gerard nodded his head to show his approval and then settled back down into his seat to prepare for the rest of the drive. Neither of them spoke for most of it, as they were far too tired and shocked after all of the action that had taken place earlier.

Eventually, Frank turned on the radio to escape some of the silence. After finding a station that was playing a familiar song, he began to softly sing the lyrics aloud. Without even realizing it, Gerard was falling asleep to the soothing sound of Frank's voice.

Gerard soon woke though when Frank's voice unexpectedly returned to a normal volume and the pleasant singing ceased. He now sounded a bit worried.

"What did you say?" Gerard asked, having not heard what Frank had said.

"The car that's behind us," Frank repeated himself, "I think it's been following us".

Turning around, Gerard tried to examine the driver of the car behind them, but it was far too dark out to be able to see who it was.

"Do you think it's the police?" Gerard asked, sinking back into his seat.

"I don't think so. It certainly doesn't look like a cop car, and I'm pretty sure there's only one person inside. Certainly, if it were the police they'd have more officers".

"Well, are we almost to the motel?"

"Almost. We'll just have to see if the guy follows us the rest of the way there".

The rest of the drive passed by fairly quickly, but both boys returned to being fearful and anxious. The last thing they wanted was to have to deal with another police officer or a witness who would report them. Especially, not after they had made it this far.
