~Nothing But Thieves Vampire FF~

Conor has always felt different. Not that he felt himself differently but it was the way he felt that was different. There was no better way to put that feeling into words. It was like when he couldn't sleep anymore, watching the night sky and feeling whole and lost at the same time. Or when singing on stage, surrounded by lights and screams and music, just music. He felt different. Lonely but not lost. He just couldn't really say what it was and maybe that was the worst part. He couldn't put into words what he was feeling.

So it was good that Joe did the writing. Conor couldn't deny it, sometimes Joe seemed to know him better than he did himself. Joe had this way of looking at him, no it was more like a talent, a gift maybe.. But he could look at Conor and the singer felt understood without even saying one word. Maybe his eyes told stories. Or his soul, hidden behind his glassy pupils, told Joe everything he needed to know to write another lyrics that described Conor's feelings with such accuracy nothing else could ever do. Anyway Conor felt better when reading what Joe wrote about him. That made him feel less lonely.

As much as Conor loved his other bandmates Joe has always been the, well the most special one. There were no other words to describe it. His blond, sometimes silver shining, long hair, his eyes, as pure as a friendly dog, his lips just lovely. But for Conor those feelings have always been a secret.

Maybe because of the fact that Joe's lyrics normally told stories about Conor's feelings or other's feelings or whatever important topic there might be, the singer was quite surprised when he first read the lyrics for Forever And Evermore. They were different, made Conor feel different. Different colors.

Phil couldn't help, he had to laugh because of that vampire vibe. It was a good text but nevertheless.. draculove?
"Sounds relatable," he said an laughed even harder. He had no idea.

Now they had released the mv for their single and still something felt odd. And damn, everything felt odd all the time so what was it now? It was getting harder to fall sleep. It was a guess inside Conor, a question that didn't necessarily need an answer. He was lying there, awake, his eyes as wide as the moon. He could hear his heart beating. He wondered if he would be able to hear Joe's heart beating. He had no clue where this thought came from but once inside his head it wouldn't go away.

A strange and unfamiliar but anyway not scary urge made him leave his bed, leave the hotel room, walking over to room 246, it was right next to his. They had exchanged their second keycards, just in case, so Conor could easily enter Joe's room. It was cold. Nights with no clouds hiding the stars were cold. Early autumn nights were so damn cold. The cold crawled through the opened window, wrapping itself around Joe's body that lied on the bed with no blanket, exposed.

Strangely beautiful, Conor thought.

It was so quiet. No sound whispered through the opened window, no breathing, nothing. Conor was just standing there, slowly freezing, listening. He couldn't hear a heartbeat.

What the heck? Now he was really freezing. Freezing in disbelief. What in God's name did he do there? Did he lost his mind? Standing in this cold room, watching a friend, just a friend sleeping. Why would he do something like that? It was... not normal, right? Now he was sure, he was losing his mind.

Without a sound he turned around and left Joe's room behind. Whatever, he thought. He was crazy. Whatever.

But nevertheless... there was no heartbeat.
