I DIDN'T SLEEP FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT. I couldn't even manage a short catnap. Although Blake and I safely got to the Inn and booked a late-night room, I was still very much on edge. The black-haired teen had fallen asleep almost effortlessly, probably because he so damn tired from what happened. My brain felt fried. My mother is dead, a God is chasing after me and almost murdering my friend. What's next? I get raped? No, shut up Chase. I told myself.

My thoughts were cut off as I felt something in my backpack rumble. I assumed it was my iPhone, but was met with a strange surprise.

The Grace Family Spear was glowing. "What the hell?" I said aloud becoming wide awake.

The spear buzzed. "What the hell! Is that how you greet your family?"

I nearly fell over. "Did you just—?"

"Yes,"

My skin became ridden with goosebumps. "Am I hallucinating from lack of sleep?"

The spear vibrated. "No, I'm quite real,"

Blake bolted up out of bed as if he had a nightmare. "Wah! What! Why are you talking to a spear? Am I dreaming?"

"No, you are not. This thing just talked to me,"

Blake looked at it jokingly. "This thing can talk?"

"Of course I can talk you imbecile!" The spear joked; I really didn't like its opinion. Maybe I'd have to throw it out.

The teen looked unnerved. "Oh my..."

"Do you have a gender?" If the spear had arms, it probably would have smacked me. This was ridiculous.

"Yes, I am a female, my code name is Ferrum, I was once a Demigod, just like you,"

"How are you able to talk?" Blake asked.

"I'm enchanted," She hissed. "Not by choice,"

"You never spoke before...when I used you to kill the giant Ag—!" I interrupted.

"I was dormant, your mother's sacrifice awoken me,"

I could feel my heart sink. My Mom died for this spear? "How?" I asked.

"You're annoying for a teenager!" Ferrum yelled, I should have left her on the ground. This was just plain a waste of time. "Please, enough with the questions!"

"Look we are wasting time arguing. Once we rest up we are leaving,"

The spear laughed. "Yeah, your hotheaded friend is getting closer, better hurry up,"

"Oh great," Blake added

I clenched my fists. "Can you shut up?"

I looked outside towards the sky, the sun was beginning to rise creating an orange hue across horizon. Even for summer it was a little cold for dawn. "We get to the terminal and meet Hera, that's our only option right now"

"Then what?" Blake asked. "We're going to meet up with the craziest Goddess in all of Greek Mythology? I mean have you even read about Hera's credibility? It's off the freaking wall! If you thought Apollo throwing a machete into me was bad, this chick is twenty times worse with what she can do,"

Blake had a point, Hera was a complete whack job. Not to mention, she hated all of Zeus's children, how was I going to be any different? "Maybe she'd be madder if we don't show up, it's better we play this off safe,"
