Chapter 1: Finn
The thunder is loud, even in the drop ship. Everyone is squashed up on both levels, some even taking it in turns to sleep.
To save space, I share a makeshift bed with Clarke. I have a protective arm draped over her and she faces away from me. Over the thunder, you can hear all the shuffling around and faint snoring.
A loud crack of thunder makes everyone jump, and Clarke wakes up.
"What was that?" she asks. "Finn!" She moves my hand off her. "What are you doing?"
"Keeping you warm," I answer.
"Okay," she says, immediately calmer. "Don't stop, I'm cold."
I put my hand back around her and she sucks in a breath. The pattering of the rain slows down a little, and Murphy climbs down the step ladder of the upper level.
"Back to work, people!" he shouts and people groan as they sit up. "This wall won't build itself."
"Are you serious?" says Clarke. "There could be grounders out there, it's the middle of the night."
"She's right," I say. "We can't risk it."
"Can we risk the grounders getting in?" Murphy comes face to face with me. "Spacewalker."
"Get up!" Bellamy shouts, and people slowly get up and open the door. The rain is light but cold as people get to work: dragging heavy tree trunks and finding tools to fix them in place.
The rain water trickles over Clarke's skin, making her look more beautiful than ever. I kiss her forehead and she surprisingly doesn't back away; she smiles and grabs my hand.
"So, princess wants a bit of spacewalker?" I joke.
She punches my arm. "Who says I don't?" She smirks and feel myself melt at her presence. "Finn, I can tell you're hopelessing drooling for me."
I drag her away from all the workers, and find a gap in the wall where no one's building. We wonder through the forest to the bunker underneath the ground, remembering the path perfectly.
"Want to go in?" I ask Clarke and she nods. "Show me what you can draw."
She takes a pencil out from one of the pots and finds a sheet of paper. Her tongue sticks out in concentration, and her hair hangs loose, covering her drawing. I don't know how long I wait for her to finish, but by the time she's done it looks like she spent hours on it.
"That's a-amazing," I say. It's not quite clear what it is, but I love it.
"Do you know what it is?"
"Not a clue."
"It represents love."
"So it's a sentimental thing...? Am I on it?"
"That's you." She points to a large drawing of Earth. "Because you're my world."
I smirk at her, and think of other questions to ask about her masterpiece.
"Where are your parents on this?"
"My dad is there." Soft fluffy clouds. "Because that's where he is."
"Where's your mom?" I ask quietly. "Isn't she on here?"
Clarke shakes her head. "She was... But she can't be. Not anymore."
There's a large drawing of a tall building in the middle of the page. "What's this?"
"Compassion. The people who died for me. Wells and Charlotte. I couldn't leave them out. It's a tall building because it sticks out above everything else."
Tears start to fall down her cheeks and I wipe them away with the sleeve of my shirt. They drip onto her drawing, making the pencil smudge.
"I've ruined it!" she exclaims. "And all because I'm crying stupidly."
"You're not stupid for crying." I take her face in my hands. "Cry all you want, I'm right here." She leans her head on my chest. I stand up and we walk slowly to the mattress on the floor, where Charlotte slept. I cry a bit, too.

"Finn?" Clarke's voice brings me back to reality. She has her head on my chest and her hair is over one of her shoulders.
"What is it?" I ask.
"When are we going back up to camp?"
"Whenever you want."
I wipe the tears from her soft cheeks. She holds my face in my hands and says "I love you, Finn. You know that, right?"
"I know. I love you, Clarke." This is the first time we've ever admitted that we love each other, to each other.
Clarke puts her forehead on mine.
"Want to go back to camp?" she asks seductively. I see a glint in her eyes that makes me love her even more.
"I just need a few minutes..." She starts to say something but I cut her off by kissing her roughly and she lifts my shirt over my head. "How are you so beautiful?"
"Beautiful? Overstatement of the century. I'm not pretty."
"Yes you are. When we were on the drop ship and I floated over to you - I did that because you stood out. I was in love."
"Don't lie. But I guess I can believe it for a little bit. We should really be going, people will suspect something."
I put my shirt back on and we climb out. The rain has stopped but it leaves a cold atmosphere nevertheless.
When we get through the hole in the wall Murphy immediately confronts us. Clarke squeezes my hand reassuringly, but I can tell she's scared as well.
"Where were you?" he asks casually.
"Me and Finn just went for a walk," Clarke says, trying to stand up against Murphy. "Problem?"
"Yes. You should have been working."
I stay silent and so does Clarke.
"Is the spacewalker afraid?" He shoots me an intimidating stare and pushes me backward. "What about the princess, hm? Is she afraid too?"
"Shut up," I say through clenched teeth.
"What did you say? Shut up?"
"Shut up!" I leap at him and try to punch him in the face but he hits me first. I feel the blood run from my nose, down my face.
"Finn!" Clarke shouts. "Stop. You're hurt." She mops at my nose with her sleeve and I pull away. "I think it's broken."
"Too right, it is. I can't stand this coldness, though. Come inside with me."
Hand in hand, we walk into one of the makeshift tents and Clarke tends to my nose.
"Thank you," I say and kiss her cheek. "For loving me back."
"It's hard not to love you, Finn. i always see girls swooning over you wherever you go."
"I'll only love you, though."
