Chapter 10: Clarke

I'm ready to start building mine and Finn's house today. Monty made some blue paint for me out of some flowers he found.

Finn has been at my side all day, which is kind of distracting, but it's obvious why. Whenever Bellamy walks past or speaks to me, he grabs my hand and I squeeze it softly so he knows that I'm okay.

"How big is the house gonna be?" Bellamy asks me.

"However big Clarke wants it to be," Finn says before I can answer. He puts his arm round my shoulder and kisses my cheek, and Bellamy looks away.

Then I realise what Finn's doing.

He's dangling me in front of Bellamy.

"Finn," I say softly in his ear. "Bellamy knows his place; it was just a dream."

"I know, but I'm taking precautions anyway." He kisses me one last time and then leaves.

"Sorry," I apologise for him.

"It's okay." Bellamy is still turned away from me.

"What does your house look like?" I quickly change the subject.

"We've only got the floor plan sorted out so far, and the supports are being put in." He looks instantly happier. "We need to expand the walls so we can fit all the houses in."

"So we have to rebuild them?!"

"No, just move them at least ten meters out further."

I spot Finn in the corner in my eye, watching me carefully, ready to strike at any moment.

"I've got to go, I'm on building duty," I lie, and run towards Finn before Bellamy has the chance to object.

"Can you take a break?" I ask him.

"I want to keep and eye on you; I need to keep an eye on you." He leans in to kiss me but I stop him by placing my hand on his chest.

"Finn, don't," I say softly. "It was a dream, a simple dream caused by stress. You'll be less stressed if you stop looking out for me, and maybe that will make the nightmares go away?"

"The nightmares never go away." He looks at me sorrowfully. "They haven't since I met you."

"It's because you care too much. It's human nature."

"Sleepless nights? Obsessive worrying? I feel anything but human."

"Peaceful conflict? Helping people? You're the most humane person I know."

"This is why I love you, Clarke. You find the right in every wrong."

IMPORTANT!

I want your ideas on what should happen in the next few chapter of the story, and I will use all the ideas that are my favourites.

I was thinking that maybe Bellamy would kiss Clarke in real life, but Bellarke will not happen, I repeat, NOT HAPPEN.
