Sink

There's something beautiful
About what lies beneath.
Your surface is so dark,
Even perfect eyes cannot see.

Your calmness,
Can be so inviting.
But it's your unexplained,
That makes it frightening.

I have this urge,
To jump overboard.
To lean over the edge,
And fall forward.

Let your coldness,
Gently kiss my skin.
Let my lungs,
Breathe you in.

My chest fills with pain,
Air is what I want.
To live my life freely,
Without any distraught.

But I cannot carry on,
So I must give in.
To live life,
To sink or to swim.
