Monel's POV

I lost all my memories because of a car accident. I've been sleeping for almost two years. My wife, Joan, was the one who had been taking care of me when I was still in a coma. She said that I got into a car accident and the head trauma caused the memory loss. She said that we've been married for  13 years already. We went to the hospital and asked if I will be able to retrieve my memories. He advised that it will be 50/50 chances that I may or may not be able to remember anything from my past. My wife was hesitant to go to the hospital at first since she mentioned that it reminded her when she was still working there before. But because of her parent's condition, she need to move in with them and she decided that she need to quit her job and open a small clinic in their province.

When we heard the doctor's advise, she looked so relieved. But since she is my wife, I did not pry it further. The doctor advise if I want to retrieve those memories again, I may need to experience the same event to trigger my brain. My wife doesn't want me to experience that same all over again. I accepted the fact that I will not be able to not now or not in the near future. I started helping her out as her assistant in her clinic as I also look after her parents while she tend to her patients. I was getting a hand of it. At the same time, I was able to fix some of the machines she used as if I know what I am doing and started fixing other people stuff so I can bring in money or save up for myself. I asked my wife some details about me but she can't seem to answer any of it and sometime we ended up fighting.

Joan: You don't need to force yourself on retrieving your memories. What is important now is that you are awake and here at my side.

Monel: Why do you not want me to remember about our 13 years of marriage? Are you hiding something from me?

Joan: N--no! Of course not, I do not want you to get stress all over it. I do not want you to experience that horrible accident because I love you. Can't you see that?

Monel: Ok, I believe you.

Joan: Thanks dear. Here's your favorite chocolate Kitkat. Why do you like this chocolate that much?

Monel: I don't know. I really can't answer your question because I lose my memories, right dear?

Joan: Oh yeah. I 'totally' forgot that one.

Monel: Don't ask questions when you already know the answers.

Joan: Fine!

I even asked her for some pictures of our wedding day or our reception. She was able to provide me some pictures. I also even ask from her friends but it seems that she is very secretive. Since I do not want us to fight or argue to one another, I decided not to force her in helping me to retrieve all my memories along with the 13 years of our marriage for we are happy as of now. I am contented with the life I have with her for the past few months. I know that there are ups and downs with the way we live right now but I do not want her to feel that I am forcing myself to live with her since I cannot remember those 13 years I had with her.
