MESSY hair, sweaty face, naked body. taeyong opened his eyes to see the girl peacefully asleep in his arms. it didn't take long for him to realise what had happened. he ran his hand through his hair in frustration. how could he have let it happen?

it was all his fault for getting so attached to someone he had known for barely a few days. he couldn't let feelings develop for a person he knew he would have to let go. he had slept around before. he had felt the rush of emotions during moments of initimacy but it was nothing like what he felt around jennie.

the burning flame of passion within him when he first kissed her was a foreign feeling. the way her hand fit in his felt so right. his body seemed to not listen to his brain when he was around her.

a little part in him told him that they were meant to meet. fate had brought them together for a reason. maybe the reason was something bigger than the two could comprehend.

but taeyong was a practical person. he didn't believe in the bullshit that was fate. you fuck something up, then that's your fault. not fate's.

"you fucked up big time lee taeyong." he whispered to himself.

he looked at her petite body beside him. she looked so unreal, like a painting from the finest artist. her perfectly shaped face, alluring chocolate eyes and plump lips made her an elegant beauty. even taeyong admitted that she was one of the most if not the most beautiful woman he had laid his eyes on.

her head rested on his chest and he meant to push her away but weirdly something took over him and instead he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her closer.

he cursed himself immeadiately after that. he looked out the window to see darkness descending outside indicating that it was proabably evening and that they couldn't have been asleep for more than a hour.

jennie stirred next to him and opened her eyes. the first thing she noticed was that taeyong had his arms wrapped around her waist gently. then she noticed their exposed bodies. she inwardly screamed. it wasn't a dream after all.

she froze under his gaze. "you're finally awake." he said while smiling.

he smiled. lee taeyong smiled. it took a while for jennie's brain to process the fact that taeyong was actually smiling. this wasn't the same half-hearted smile she saw on his face. he was genuinely smiling like he meant it.

he saw her widened eyes and frowned. "what's wrong?"

"it's just that i've never really seen you smile before." she moved away from him and pushed herself up.

"look jennie, what happened with– us was in the spur of the moment. it was stupid. it didn't mean anything." he sadly chuckled and ran his fingers through his hair for the nth time. he did that a lot when he was at a loss for words.

jennie was hurt. she didn't know why but she refused to accept that a part of her wanted him to be lying.

"you don't have to explain. i understand." she awkwardly but quickly made an attempt to gather her clothes which were scattered all across the floor.

"okay." he muttered. "we have to get going soon. you get ready, i have to go talk to hansol about something."

she didn't question him when he turned the doorknob to leave. just a flash of sadness was hinted on her face. their eyes caught each others' for a brief moment and that moment itself explained the complex of emotions swirling through their minds.

this time he was the one who made the move. he walked to the edge of the bed where she sat. his lips crashed on hers. that one chaste kiss made felt like it held the power to slow down time. his hands cupped her warm cheeks as they separated. "i'll be back." his mellow voice said and she nodded back, helplessly falling for the guy before her.

he excused himself out the room. his hands rested in the pockets of his dark jeans as he walked the quiet hallway. the truth was, he didn't really want to talk hansol. all taeyong wanted was sometime to himself to work out the mess he was. he thought hard about his feelings as he got into one of the two elevators on the floor and pushed a random button. he hoped that she understood what the kiss meant, he hoped that she saw right through his lies. he hoped that she felt the same about him.

the elevator took him to the ground floor which wasn't as isolated as the rest of the hotel. he wasn't wearing his mask but no one really seemed to care about anything, everyone was just too busy in their own schedules. like a chameleon, he blended in with the crowd which was a fairly easy task for him.

after spending a few minutes wandering around the property taeyong decided to head back. it was more like his instinct was screaming at him. something wasn't right. his stomach turned to a knot when he saw a suspicious figure in the parking lot.

he made a dash to the elevator. he got off on their floor and with cautious steps approached their room door.

but it was wide open.
