My phone lit up with his name

My phone lit up with his name.. Austin. He was the bassist for my brother's band back in high school that sadly never took off. Cody was the best brother I could ever ask for, his friends were my friends and we lived together, things were great between my brother and I, but his friend Austin and I not so much. Or at least not anymore.

"What the fuck do you want!" I sighed, picking up the phone.

"Baby I'm sorry, I promise I won't cheat again, I promise!" He pleaded. This fucking man cheated on me, Cody or really anyone hasn't found out.

"fuck off! I don't want to hear it. 'Oh I'm sorry it won't happen again' won't fucking cut it. Nothing will change my mind!" I yelled through the phone, hanging up and throwing it against my bed as I pulled my knees to my chest.

My guess is that Cody or one of our friends heard me yelling in the phone. Everyone from Cody's band except Austin lived with us.

Footsteps approached my door, a hand lightly knocked on my door. "Come in," I mumbled, holding back as many tears as I could.

"Scar?" A man asked from outside my door as he slowly stepped in. Maxx.

"Hey, Maxx." I waved, using my other hand to wipe my cheeks.

"What was all that yelling about, it's like one in the morning." His demeanor was sympathetic and caring. I've known him for four years, basically since high school.

"Just boyfriend problems."

"Austin is being an asshole? I swear to god I'll kick his ass." Maxx said angrily through gritted teeth.

"He just cheated on me and he's apologizing about it, I thought I made it clear when I found out that I didn't want anything to do with him." Maxx's cat Pistol came running in and hopped onto my bed and into my lap like she always did when Maxx came into my room.

"Does Cody know? What about Zach or Dan? Do they know?" He rambled on with questions and curses.

"They probably know something is up now with me screaming while on the phone about something at one in the morning." My breath hitched as I tried not to cry. Pistol nudged her head on my hand wanting me to pet her.

"I knew I shouldn't have trusted him, but I can't tell Cody. He doesn't need to give a friend up for me." Tears streamed down my face as I quietly sobbed. Pistol stood up from her spot and robbed her head against my cheek, licking it and laying back down.

"Austin is an asshole, it would be a good thing that we dropped him, you of all people should know that," Maxx sat down on the bed in front of me.

"Talk to Cody about it, if not Cody at least talk to Dan. You don't deserve what he did to you." My body shook as I sobbed into my hands, feeling Maxx's arms wrap around me in a tight embrace.

"You'll be okay. I'd kill for you, so would the rest of the guys, you're part of our family, for some of us it's literal." He chuckled at his own joke as his hands ran up and down my back softly.

"Thank you, Maxx." I smiled sadly as we pulled away from our embrace.

"Now get some sleep. We have a big day tomorrow." He smiled, wiping away a tear that had rested on my cheek.

"Cou-could I stay in your room? I don't really wanna be in this room alone anymore." Hair from the bun on top of my head fell resting against my forehead.

"Sure. Cody won't kill me for it, right?" He laughed holding out his hand for me to take.

"I'll make sure he doesn't." I smiled back.

"We have to be up early to pack, I'm not sure if Cody told you why yet." He sighed, I took his hand and stood up.

"Yeah I know why." I frowned.

He let go of my hand so I could grab anything I wanted to bring into his room. I took my pillow and my favourite blanket that had the twenty one pilots logo on it, grabbing my phone and the charger and make our way into his room.

"Inside or outside of the bed?" He asked while we walked down the seemingly long hallway.

"Inside if that's okay." I shyly responded holding my pillow up to my face.

Maxx Danziger, what could I say? He was a sweetheart considering the profession we all got caught up into.
He was a drummer, he could play ukulele, and sing even though he says he can't. For the four years I've known him he has been a wonder. I love him with all my heart just like the other guys.

"Of course it's fine!" He opened his door, pistol ran in, and made herself comfortable on his desk chair.

"I hope I didn't wake you up with my yelling." I was sorry to any of the guys who had to hear that, especially Cody. Austin and Cody are best friends.

"I wasn't asleep, I couldn't. Too much on the mind to sleep." He admitted. He was so sweet, what did we ever do to deserve someone like Maxx.

I threw my pillow to the side of the bed closest to the wall, crawling under his covers with my blanket in hand as I cuddled up to it for warmth. I hadn't noticed until now, but Maxx was only wearing sweatpants. Not that I would complain.

It's surprising that all of us haven't gotten caught, well up until now. Some other gang had threatened to kill us and for the safety of all of us not like many of us cared about that Cody decided to move us further away Canada.

I turned my phone on wanting to watch a movie as I fell asleep I saw a bunch of texts from Cody asking me what was wrong and a few texts from Dan and Zach about keeping the noise down.

"I'll be right back. I forgot something in my room." I lied, I crawled out from under his covers, watching has he picked Pistol up from his chair and setting her in his lap as he sat down in it.

"Okay,"

I pulled the sleeves of my sweater down over my hands and headed into the hall, walking down to Cody's room. His Girlfriend Ash was meeting us are our new place tomorrow.

"Hey C," I sighed.

"I heard you on the phone, what was that about?" He asked grabbing my hand letting me sit down on his bed.

"Au-Austin um." I froze as my phone lit up in my other hand, Austin's name being displayed on the screen.

"He um... he cheated on me twice with one of our old friends from high school. You remember Katie? Long blonde hair and always wore crop tops no matter the weather?" He nodded letting me know that he remembered.

"Now he won't stop calling me and telling me that he's sorry when he's not. I don't want you to just drop him, you shouldn't have to lose friends over me again." I muttered.

"Hand me you're phone for a sec." it was still buzzing, Austin really didn't want to give up.

"Listen here buddy, you're going to leave my sister alone, you hear me?" Cody growled.

"Cody?" Austen sounded surprised.

"Talk to her or any of the guys again and you will be in a shallow grave by the end of the week." Cody hung up the call and handed me back my phone as he hugged me.

"He knows not to fuck with me," he smiled devilishly.

"Go get some sleep Scar, we have to leave early tomorrow." He gave me a kiss on the forehead before I left. I shut the door behind me and walked into my room grabbing my water bottle and heading back to Maxx's room.

He had been sitting at his desk with his headphones over his ears, Kurt Cobain blasting through each one. I crawled back into bed and tried to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a long day.
