"YOU shut your mouth, you're only a 15 year old SNOT with no experience in life yet, what would YOU know?"
I listen in shock as the eagerness of expressing what I know fades from my eyes
I don't defend myself
I keep my mouth shut
And nod
My opinion is drowned out yet again
My knowledge and experience discarded as false
They won't ever know that I base my knowledge and beliefs off scientific proof
Or personal experience
I know for a fact
That in a few years
What I tried to express today
Which no one listened to
Except my parents
Will come out on TV
They won't even remember I ever spoke about it
"Oooh!"
"Aaah..."
"I never knew!"
"Life sure would have been easier if I had known this sooner..."
Yeah
It sure would have been
If you had listened
You don't even have to agree
We can have debates about it long into the night
But that's enough
Because I know you at least
