Chapter 2: Stage fright

NEXT DAY

KATIE'S POV

I was so nervous for this day. I have terrible stage fright. I wasn't sure if I could go through with this. next thing I knew I heard a honk outside. great. it was time to go. I looked at myself in the mirror one last time, trying to calm myself down. then I went to the car.

"Hai." Tanya said cheerfully.
"Hi." I said trying to hide my nervousness.
"You look nervous." Said Tanya

Great job at hiding it.

"Yea but, just a little." I said
"Don't worry like I said yesterday, there's like no crowd."Tanya said trying to convince me.

I must still look nervous because she continued.

"Hey, just pretend like we're in the garage playing. Ok?" Tanya said as we pulled up.
"Okay." I said as she sat there looking like she's trying to read me.

Tanya smiled and we got out the car and into the restaurant. It was different then what I was expecting. it was more like a teen hang out place, so I was immediately scared. we all started tuning and talking about what songs we were gonna play. We decided on 4 songs. I was relieved and could do that. first song. Rian went up to the mic.

"Our first song we will be playing is skater boi." Rian said with a smile.

She looked at us and we started.

He was a boy,
She was a girl,

Can I make it any more obvious,

He was a punk,
She did ballet,

What more can I say,

He wanted her.
She never tell,

Secretly she wanted him as well,

But all her friends,
Stuck up their nose,

And they had a problem with his baggy clothes

The chorus came in and I forgot where I was and I felt one with the music. then the song ended. no one was full on watching us like Tanya said. next song.

"This next one is called what I like about you." said Tanya.

She looked at at us and then Kiana started.

Then the guitar solo. I could tell Kiana loved this part. then my small dr solo. yes. then the song was over. we were all smiling. I noticed we caught some peoples attention with that song. I was nervous but at the same time I wasn't. next song.

"Our next song is a favorite by all of us. it's called misery business" said Rian

We started to play. by the end of this song we had a small crowd. last song.

"And for our last song..." Rian paused mid-sentence.

Some people looked upset that we were ending after that song.

"18" Rian continued.
Me and Kiana started.

I wish that I was 18,
Do all the things you read on a magazine,

I'm not saying I want to be Charlie sheen,

She just a little bit older,
But I want to get to know her,

She said it's already over

The chorus came in and everyone loved it. Next thing I knew we were doing a finale ending. then Rian went back up to mic.

"Thank you so much for listening. were the black hearts. and we'll be back tomorrow." Rian said with a smile.

then everyone applauded and then we got a seat to eat there.

"So Katie, how'd it feel?"asked Tanya.
"I was nervous at first, but then I felt comfortable after I saw the crowd enjoying us." Katie said with disbelief that she just played I front of a crowd.

After talking about our performance and eating we all went home to our houses.
