"Why did you name!"

"You know it's kind of weird to talk to yourself," A voice sung behind me.

I immediately turn around to be met with a guy a couple inches taller than me. I had to take a few steps back because of how close he was. After looking him and and down for a minute I realized I hadn't said anything for a while. I mean what was I suppose to say? So in the moment of total awkwardness and not thinking before I spoke I said this...

"Why did you name!" Apparently my mind was screaming at him for sneaking up on me and wanted to ask him why, however my heart wanted to know his name. Damn...

He chuckled at my flustered state, "Sorry, did I startle you?"

"You think," I mutter not expecting him to hear me, but luck wasn't on my side today.

"Sorry, sorry," He put his hands up in a surrender stance, "I'm Jiro Hiromichi, and you are?"

"(Name)," I regain my posture, "Haven't your parents taught you not to sneak up on people?"

"Maybe," He began to circle me in a mocking way.

"What are you doing?"

"Looking at what caught my interest," He stopped in front of me with amusement in his eyes.

"Didn't know I was so interesting," I remark while walking past him into the hallway behind him.

"Where are you going?" He instantly trailed behind me as I made my way down.

"To class," I bluntly reply. Now usually I would be more friendly and polite, but this guy is starting to get on my nerves. I should've known he was just checking me out. Not saying I'm the prettiest girl in town, on the contrary I can be very insecure about my appearance at times, but Kai and Yuki told me about guys like him. The next thing I know he'll be asking me skip class or just annoy me the whole time.

"Aw, that's boring, can't we skip?" He whined. I called it.

"We? I literally just met you less than five minutes ago and not to mention it's only the first day," I try to distract myself by scanning the door numbers that were scattered on the wall.

"No, we met exactly five minutes ago," So he's a smartas--butt I see.

"Oh your so funny," I roll my eyes.

"I know, I'm hilarious," He then looked over my shoulder to see my schedule, "Hey, we're in the same class!"

"Really?" Secretly hoping he was lying or being sarcastic in some way.

"Yeah! Fifth period History with Mr. Forte. I heard he's really strict,"

"How do you know?" I ask just as I spot our class at the end of the hall.

"Heard a couple of sophomores talking about him," He shrugged. After, we walked in silence for a second as we reached the classroom, "Ladies first, or should I say lady? You know since you're the only one here,"

"You know jokes aren't funny when you have to explain them," I sigh but nonetheless I walked in when he opened the door for me. Upon entering it appeared not a lot of students were here, just a couple here and there, it also seemed like the teacher wasn't in the room. It was kinda odd how the teacher was't there, but it wasn't like I was complaining. I randomly selected a seat in the second row that was against the wall and sat down shutting my eyes while taking a deep breath.

"So (Name), tell me more about yourself," I open my eyes to stare right at Jiro who took the seat directly in front of me as he turned himself around in his chair. Now that I got a better look at him, he wasn't bad looking or anything. He was a brunette with these eyes that made you feel warm and welcome. Almost like you would melt if you stared into them to long. They were chocolaty brown with the slightest hint of green splattered in the mix.

"Why did you approach me?" I finally decided to ask the question that my mind was telling me to ask from the hallway, "And don't just say because I stood out,"

"I thought you would've liked the company. Being the only girl in an all boys' school is rough. I know girls like attention so I thought I'd give you a shot. I do have four sisters so I know that girls like attention," He smirked as if he was proud of that explanation.

"That's stereotyping. Not every girl likes attention, so don't act like you figured it out," I shot him down crossing my arms on the desk.

"Apparently I have more to learn," He mimicked my motion but on his chair, "You wouldn't mind if I study you more, right?"

"I walked straight into that one, didn't I?" I deadpan as he gave me a goofy smile before nodding his head. And even though it was a cheesy pickup line, and I can't believe I'm admitting this, but I felt myself smile and let out a little chuckle as well.
