The Bet

"Alright, I'm heading out!" I called behind me as I rushed out the door before anyone could stop me.

"Don't forget to put your shoes on!!!" I heard Kai shout from inside, which was weird. What the hell does that--

"AH! KAI, WHAT THE HELL?!" I grab the shoe that was thrown at my head and that was obviously NOT mine and threw it back at a hysteric Kai and Haruto.

"Ohh! Knot again!" Haruto laughed running into the next room. 

"Come on, Haruto, if you wanna sneak around you gotta put on your sneakers!" Kai threw the shoe, which ironically was Haruto's sneaker, at the retreating figure, "At least take the joke and run with it!" 

"There was no sole in that one" Yuki smirked watching Kai run after Haruto then turning to me, "Have a good day at school, (Y/n)" 

Geez, how annoying. 

With no more words said, I exit my house to see the blur of silver I had unfortunately been thinking about before. And now, I'll seal my fate. 

"Yo, Tadashi wait up!"I call after the skater boy and this time it appears like he actually heard me. He turned unamused at first, but when he saw me a new emotion in his eyes surfaced. Mischief. I knew that look from a mile away, "Tsun-chan!" He cheered waiting for me to catch up to him. 

"Mind if I join you?" I ask with a somewhat convincing smile, although really once I caught up to him I didn't stop to wait and kept walking. 

Hearing the sound of his skateboard wheels scrape against the sidewalk I didn't feel that bad for walking ahead, especially for what I knew was coming next, "Amazing to see you again too, Tsun-chan~ I knew you wouldn't be able to resist me" 

"If that's what helps you sleep at night, then sure. Believe what you wanna believe" I rolled my eyes, and then things went silent for a solid second. It was kind of weird. There was no retaliation, no remark or flirty comment just the sound of the skateboard wheels. But before I could notice anything else, I spotted his face right next to mine with a blank look on it. 

"Well that wasn't the defensive lash back I expected" He huffed as if annoyed and looked back to me quizically.

"What's that look for?" I ask not really used to this close of an inspection.

"It's no fun if you let me win!" He whined, then swerved stopping right in front of me. Have his eyes always been that shade of purple? "So, why don't you really tell me why you wanted to walk with me. As much as I would relish in the personal victory of you becoming smitten by me, it can't be that easy"

I stared into his eyes with a straight face. Who knew he could be serious about something, then again we just met a day ago, "If you must know, I have to walk with someone to school, or else, I have to get driven. With the talk of gang wars and whatnot, my family wants to know I have someone with me" 

His face shows some form of recognition regarding the talk of "war" between gangs and soon his expression turns somewhat playful again, "And so naturally you came to me in your pit of desperation? You're lucky I'm such a gentleman, as I would proudly take the role of being your knight in shining armor"

Suddenly my phone appeared more interesting, as I still talked to Tadashi, "More like the only option I had left. I would prefer to get driven if my brothers wouldn't be the ones driving me"

"Oh, so you have brothers? Good to know we're growing to trust one another each and every day!"

"Ew," I looked the up shaking my head until I heard him laugh under his breath drawing my attention.
