Before I ever set foot in London.
I lived in a place far from others.
It was only my mother and I.
Living a peaceful life.
No one bothered us.
No one sought us.
It was truly the most peaceful time of my life.
Until.
They arrived.
Men who wore a cruel smile.
I faintly remember their words.
They claimed that my mother was a gypsy.
At that time, I didn't know what that word meant.
All I knew was that was the reason why my mother and I were taken away.
Away from the place I called home.
We were going on a long journey.
I thought everything would be fine as long as mother was still there.
However.
One day.
My mother was hugging me.
"My son." She muttered in a faint whisper while pulling back. Wearing a small smile on her face, "I promise we will meet again."
Those were the last words I ever heard from my mother.
That was the last time I could recall my mother's smiling face.
Before she was dragged away by the cruel men to who knows where.
Leaving me alone in an unfamiliar place.
