Propping her elbows onto the table, Sylva placed her chin against the back of her left hand.
Staring down at me.
"Just tell me, Nico." She muttered my actual name for the first time, "How willing would you push yourself to run straight into a lion's den filled with bad memories?"
My lips twitched.
I can feel a frown already forming on my face.
These actions she showed weren't her usual snark.
It was an attitude that resembled her true nature.
'As expected of the rumored forest witch.'
She hit the sorest spot while wearing the coldest look in the room.
"For what reason do I need to tell you?" I hide the nervousness in my voice with a chuckle, feeling my stomach churn as I awaited her response.
Sylva's mouth quirked into a smile. "You're right."
"Your business has nothing to do with me." Removing her chin from her hand, the woman relaxed her shoulders. "You're only here because you destroyed my medicinal herbs."
"However." The smile on her face vanished as she reminded me. "You're still under my roof."
"And as long as you stay here, you have a choice to continue staying here or return."
