"Mas...ter?" The moment I opened the doors to the mansion.

I was only met with silence.

The sounds of the maids and butlers running around to make sure everything was cleaned was gone.

I couldn't even hear the sound of the grandfather clock ticking in the distance.

'What's going on?' I wandered further down the entrance and toward the hallway.

'Where's everyone?' The more I walked, there was a heavy feeling weighing on my chest.

By the time I reached to the door leading to Master William's study, a faint metal-like smell wafted in the air.

'Was this smell always here?'

No.

This smell.

I don't recognize it at all.

As I reached out and gripped my right hand on the door knob, I gulped.

"Master?" I called out first.

No answer.

I knocked on the door and repeated. "Master?"

Still no answer.

'Should I check?'

'Master might be asleep.'

Upon opening the door, that same smell escaped from Master's study.

'The smell is strong.'

It was an unforgettable smell.

'Ah, Master really was here!' At first, it seemed like he was resting by the window. 'Maybe he was sleeping.'

"Master William, I've-"

But then my words ended.

"...Master?"
