I waited until I heard the door to the stairwell shut before leaving my bathroom. To my surprise, everything was cleaned up.

I sat back down at my desk and sighed. Of course, I wouldn't be getting any more work done tonight. I'd be lucky to ever get work done here again. I gathered up my laptop, some spreadsheets I had been combing through, and my phone and threw it all in my laptop bag. Slipping on my heels, I walked downstairs to set the stairwell alarm before getting in my car and driving home. Tonight was one of those nights I was glad my drive was less than 10 minutes. I was exhausted.

When I walked into my building, I was met with Eddies smiling face. "Late night, Ms. James."

"It was Eddie, glad to be home." He smiled and I headed for the elevators. Once in my apartment, I breathed a little sigh of relief. Today had been too much. I decided not to over analyze what I'd done tonight. I stripped off all my clothes, climbed into bed, and for the first time in a long time, I fell asleep shortly after my head hit the pillow.

I woke up the next morning feeling energized. I threw on some workout clothes and headed to the gym in my building determined to run Reese off my mind, however, he had other plans. I grabbed my phone off the table and realized I had a text message from a number, not in my phone.

Good morning, beautiful.

That's all it said, but I knew who it was. Sent at 7:32 am, ugh, was he an early riser too?

S: who is this?

He responded almost immediately.

R: Who do you think?

S: How did you get my number, Reese?

R: Swiped a business card off your desk.

S: That's not stalkerish at all.

R: You wouldn't have given it to me on your own.

S: You're probably right.

I laced up my shoes and pulled my hair up into a messy bun.

R: When can I see you again?

S: I thought this was on my time. I also never agreed to anything.

R: Don't be like that, sugar. Besides, I just want to see you. Is that such a crime?

S: Crime? No. But my schedule is full today.

R: Full of what?

S: Not that it's any of your business but I'm on my way to a workout, then I have work to do since I was so rudely interrupted last night.

R: Let me make the distraction up to you. I'll help you with work. I am quite the numbers guy myself you know ;)

S: Make it up to me with more distractions?

R: You know, some would say I'm the best kind of distraction.

S: You aren't really my type.

R: You wound me.

S: Oh, please!

R: I'll be making you beg later if you let me come over.

I set the phone in the cup holder and plugged my earbuds in. I needed to think and no better way to clear your head than a run. I turned on the do not disturb setting and opened my Pandora app. I was feeling like it was a gangsta rap day. Setting the treadmill on 5, I started my warm up.
