After spending time with Serena on Sunday, I wanted more, but I also wanted to respect she needed her space.
I decided to compromise and invite her on another run on Wednesday. We had been texting on and off for the last couple of days and I wanted to see her. Since she'd made it clear we couldn't hook up, I figured doing something in public was the only way she'd agree.
We met at the same park and she asked to cut it down to three miles today. She also mentioned she was starving so I mentally pep talked myself into asking her to dinner.
To my surprise, she agreed to come back to my place since both of us were sweaty and in no condition to go to any of the restaurants within walking distance. We walked side by side to my house. When we got there, I offered her a bottle of water and a glass of wine. She smiled, "You know me too well."
Once she had finished off her bottle of water, I offered to let her shower while I started dinner. She followed me into my bedroom as I went in search of something small enough to fit her so she wouldn't have to put her workout clothes back on after she showered. I turned around with a UNC t-shirt in one hand and a pair of sweatpants in the other and was met with a half-naked Serena.
She had stripped off her t-shirt and running shorts and was standing before me in just a sports bra and panties. Her body still had a slight sheen of sweat on it and I found myself licking my lips.
"You're testing my patience," I said after a minute of just staring at her beautiful body.
She licked her lips, causing my cock to stand at attention, "That's the point." She smiled a devilish smile and took a few steps towards me. She was in reach now, but I knew if I touched her, I'd never be able to stop and I still wasn't sure what game we were playing.
She stepped up on her tippy toes to whisper in my ear, "Shower with me." She said before turning around and strutting towards the shower, stripping off what little clothing remained as she went.
Well, fuck. I sure as hell wasn't going to pass up that opportunity. I didn't know why she had a sudden change of heart about sleeping with me, but right now... I didn't fucking care.
I followed her, stripping my sweaty clothes off as I went. When I got in the bathroom she was letting the water warm up. I took her into my arms and gave her the kiss I had been longing to give her all day.
Her lips, hell, her entire body was like my drug and lately, I'd felt like an addict waiting for his next fix. She tasted of sweetness and smelled like heaven even after a three-mile run.
Picking her up, I maneuvered us both into the shower, letting the spray cascade between us as I continued to claim her mouth. She was so soft and pliant, taking everything I had to give and more. She wrapped her legs around me and when our lips broke apart, she begged me to claim her. "Oh baby, you know I love it when you beg."
She groaned her response as I entered her in one quick thrust. She was so ready for me, and as she cried out, I knew she had been longing for this just as much as I had. Her legs trembled around me as a thrust deeper into her, pounding harder with each thrust. I wanted to take her, to own every possible inch of her. She came screaming my name before I let go, emptying myself inside of her.
I held her still against the wall until her breathing slowed before easing out of her and setting her down in the spray of the shower. She leaned back wetting her hair as I circled her in my arms. In that moment, there was no need for words as we took turns soaping each other before quickly drying off and heading the to kitchen.
In the kitchen, I poured us both glasses of pinot noir before pulling out chicken and vegetables. She sat at the bar watching me cook for a few minutes before she finally spoke, "So, your first board meeting is tomorrow. Are you ready?" I turned to gauge her reaction and she wore a smirk.
"Should I be preparing?" I asked, honestly curious. She shrugged, "Normally, I would say yes, but the agenda is light this time. Nothing except some policy revisions and smaller regulation O loans. That's why we didn't send anything out today."
"Jack didn't really give me a good idea of what to expect. He just said show up and show the rest of the members what you showed me. Whatever the fuck that means."
She laughed, "That's just for you. He's a baffle them with bullshit kind of guy."
It was my turn to laugh, "Baffle them with bullshit? I've never heard that before."
"I actually had a finance professor in college who said that. He was a real hardass and a big presentation guy, which I'm super thankful for now. Anyways, he always said if you don't know what the hell you're doing... you have to get up there and baffle them with so much bullshit, they don't even know what to ask. It's always stuck with me, but that's what Jack does."
"Okay, so you're telling me that you've never done that before?" I asked.
Serena scoffed. "Of course, every time I'm with someone and they ask me a question I don't know the answer to, which is like, all the time. The trick is to have enough common sense or general knowledge to be able to pull it off."
I nodded, "So, you're really a master manipulator, that's how you've gotten so far so quickly."
"Well, some could say the same about you, Mr. Logan." She said, eyeing me suspiciously.
"Actually, I'm just a slacker who was lucky enough to inherit my father's business."
She gasped, "People actually say that?"
"Of course. It doesn't bother me anymore though. The people who matter know the truth. My no fucks given attitude also helps," I said, giving her a wink.
After that, I plated the dishes and we sat down to eat. "This is amazing, How did you learn to cook?" She asked. "Well, my Dad actually taught me. He loved to cook. He always cooked for my mom, me, and my sister. Growing up, we would have these huge cookouts and all the neighbors, and friends would come. it was like a big party. I loved it, but when he got sick and later died, we kind of gave up the tradition."
She was quiet for a minute before she spoke. "I'm sorry, Reese."
I smiled, "Don't be. I'm glad I have these fond memories. I do miss the parties though. I hardly see the people who came anymore, maybe not even once a year."
"I can relate to that. You grow up and life gets busy. Sometimes it's just easier to make excuses than to make the time."
