"And then, I went SHWOOM, and then he was like BAMWAAAA!" Peter waves his arms around, acting out his latest mission. You laugh, then he smiles and keeps going. "Oh, and some point on the mission, this figure that resembled like, a girl, sped past me! She was like, faster than the fastest jet on earth!" Your skin started to crawl. "Wait, Peter, say that again."
Peter turns to you. "Huh?"
"Who sped past you?!"
Peter thinks for a second. "I don't know, but they were fast, like I mentioned... it was weird. But, guess what!? She pantsed Flash! It was hilarious! Anyway, afterwards, I immediately called Mr. Stark, cause, you know," he clears his throat, "if you see ANYONE display super powers, then use them for a prank, you NEED to tell me. They're most likely untrained, and we don't want them taught by the wrong people!' So, he told me I have to find her ASAP," Peter explained.
Ned chuckled. "Huh. Weird! No one's ever pantsed the Flash before! She must've been pretty dang fast to reach him without him catching her!"
Your heart and mind were racing, but Peter couldn't know. So, you act like you're thinking, and hope Peter won't observe you too much.
"The Avengers might know who this is, and they trusted ME to bring them in! Isn't that the most epic thing ever?!"
It's one thing to be silent, but Peter was going to expect you to say something soon. You were a sufficient liar, so this would hopefully be easy to cover up. You take a deep breath, and start. "Peter, this is amazing! I mean, the Avengers never trust you to do anything! I mean, can you blame them?" You can't hide your smirk. There's never a bad time for a good roast.
Ned covered his mouth to stifle his laughter, but it wasn't effective.
Peter scoffed, but it was mostly to cover up his chuckle. "UM, I take offense to that!"
"Whatever,"You stand up, "I need to use the bathroom. See ya my dudes!" You flipped them off then walked away. "How dare you," Ned called from across the library. You couldn't help from laughing, which turned to nervous laughing, which turned to a nervous tear.
