You wake up especially early. You skip breakfast, too nervous to eat anything. Not even toast. You dress carefully in your neatest uniform and do your hair in its nicest style.
You walk your bike to school, the lunch in the basket bouncing like the uneasiness in your stomach.
When? When should I tell him?
You chain your bike to the fence and stalk the empty halls to your classroom. You sit and plug in your earbuds, triple checking the homework you'd barely had the focus to complete.
*flashback*
"Kookie, this is Y/N. Say hello." Nan said.
"Why?"
" Because I asked you to. " Nan told him patiently.
" Hello~" the 6 year old sang out.
Nan looked to you to respond. Reluctantly you do.
"H-hi..." Your younger self whispers shyly. You won't let go of Nan's leg.
"Let's go play, you don't have to talk if your too scared!" He told you encouragingly.
You nod a little and Jungkook takes your hand, dragging you to the jungle gym.
"Com'n!" He laughed.
*end*
The two of you had been friends ever since. Just your luck, you'd fallen in love with him. At this point you'd decided to just tell him, but you were scared out of your mind. Thankfully he hasn't mentioned your weird behaviour.
You got embarrassed just thinking of all the stupid things you'd done this week alone:
*On Monday, you laughed at one of his lamest, oldest jokes, but you managed to play it off.
"Still using that one?"
* On Tuesday, you avoided him because of Monday, but he didn't ask you about it.
*Wednesday you didn't avoid him, but you didn't respond to him most of the day.
*Yesterday you got really red when he brushed past you to copy paper. He'd looked at you oddly, but didn't say anything.
You were imagining everything that would possibly go wrong today when Jungkook himself pulled one of your earbuds out and started listening to EXID's Up Down with you. You let out a small gasp of surprise.
He smiled at you and looked at your homework. "Now I know something is off with you. Y/n? At school early? Doing homework? Pfft! Never!"
He looked at his shoes and bit his lip. "What's wrong Y/N?" He was no longer joking around.
"I-I've been--I'm not--" You stop yourself and breathe. "I'm normal."
He puts a hand on your head, something he'd always done when he knew you were lying. He scrunched the hair and mussed it.
"Kookie! I worked hard on this today!" You groan.
"Why?" He confronted you.
Do it now or you never will!
"Ireallylikeyouokayandimightevenactuallybeinlovewithyouandimsorry!" You pushed yourself up and ran before he could respond.

You heard your phone clatter to the floor as the earbuds were yanked out, but you just ran. Through the hallway, up the stairs, onto the roof, around the air conditioner units, into a small corner. By now, your breaths came in short gasps and your lungs hurt. Your legs burned and your fingers trembled with adrenaline.
What did I just do!!!?!!!!??!!?!
You sank down and huddled into the corner, tucking your knees under your chin. Nervous tears filled your eyes, threatening to spill over. You bit back the urge to scream in frustration.
You heard the door slam open.
"Y/n! Where are you?" Kookie shouted. You heard him kick the door and swear.
"Stupid! Idiot Jungkook! You shouldn't have let her leave, now she'll never speak to you again and you'll never be able to tell her that you feel the same!"
Yeesh! That's a mouthful, sorry guys...it's really unrealistic and cringey, but me and reality were never really on good terms. : )
"The... SAME?!" You shout. Crap!
You hear him running in your direction. He skids to a stop in front of you, hair wild and breathing hard. He kneels in front of you.
"Do you really, Kookie?" You whisper.
He nods and plants a kiss on your forehead. He rests his forehead against yours and your noses almost touch.
