Chapter 4

*Flashback*

After dancing with Jesse for a little while, I went into the kitchen area to get another drink. Even though I should've stopped at two.

I grabbed another cup, not caring what was in it or if someone had spiked it, and went back on the dance floor.

When I got back to dancing, I didn't find Jesse. So, instead of looking for him, I just continued to dance. This went on for about an hour and a half, and I started to worry that Jesse had gone away with a different girl.

I spotted my best friend Kayla and stumbled toward her," Hey! Have you seen Jesse?"

She shook her head," No. But Riley might have." she pointed over to Riley, who was dancing with two guys.

"Hey ri! Have you seen Jesse?" I asked.

She pointed to the stairs that led to the second floor.

I gave her a thumbs up and walked up the steps, trying not to trip or stumble.

Once I reached the top of the steps, I saw a group of guys hanging out.

"Having any of you seen Jesse?" I asked.

They pointed down the hallway to the door at the end, which I'm hoping is a bathroom..

I opened the door and found two people, doing the deed in one of the beds.

I was about to close the door, but I took another glance at the head of the boy.

Please.. This can't be happening..

"Jesse?" I whispered.

The couple stopped what they were doing and turned to me.

It is him!

Once he saw who I was, his eyes widened.

"Lex! Baby! Wait!" He called.

But I was already halfway down the steps by now.

He ran down the steps, while putting his shirt on, and ran after me.

I ran till I reached the lake. I dropped to my knees and started to cry.

I cried so hard, I felt like I was about to die.

"Alexis." His voice sounded behind me.

"Stay away from me." I cried.

Too late. He was already down on his knees next to me.

"Look, what you saw back there. It was nothing! I swear!" He pleaded.

"Don't bullshit me Jesse! How could you do that to me? We've been dating for over a year! What happened? Did you suddenly just give up and think I'm not worth it anymore?"

"No! It's not like that! I promise it won't happen again! It's just.. I didn't know what I was doing!" He said.

I got up and started to walk away.

"Yeah." I snorted,"You didn't know what you were doing. Please."

"Look!" He gripped my arm.

Ow!

"Let go of me!" I screamed. " I hate you! I hate you, I hate you! I never thought that out of everyone, you would do that to me! I trusted you. I gave you my heart. Guess it was just a waste now."

His hand fell from my arm and he looked at me with those pathetic sad eyes.

"That's not working this time buddy." I said.

"Please. Let me make it up to you! I didn't mean to do it!" He cried.

I turned around to face him and giving him the most coldest glare.
