*Fletcher*

"Hey it's fletcher.. Remember me? Yeah, you said you loved me. And I love you. Well you've been gone for two months now, and no phone calls, texts, or anything. Not even a letter.. I hope you're okay, but really. Please just contact me. Call me back please. don't forget about me.." I said, leaving the very last voicemail I'd ever leave for her.

I mean, c'mon. It you really love someone, you don't just leave without telling them why or when you do leave, you just can't ignore them or seem like you forgot about them. You're supposed to be honest and there for each other. But how am I supposed to be there for her when she isn't even here?..

After sitting on my porch for a little bit, I walked inside to feel that my phone was going off.

"Alexis?!" I ask excitedly into the phone.

"Nope. Just your mother." She laughed.

"Sorry mom." I sighed.

"Hey. She's gonna come back. Don't worry." She said. "But I need you to run to the store for me."

"Sure. What do you need?"

"Fruit, stuff to make spaghetti and anything else you want." She said.

"Okay. I love you mom."

"I love you too honey." She sighed.

We both hung up, and I drove to the store.

"Hello Fletcher. How are you today?" The cashier asked me.

"Oh I'm just peachy." I mumbled.

"I heard about Alexis.. Two months, huh?" She asked.

"Yup." I said, continuing to put the products on the counter thing.

Once everything was on the counter, I looked at the rack of magazines.

Out of all of them, one special one caught my eye.

There was a picture of Alexis, and Brandon Miller, an actor and singer, on the front cover of People's magazine.

'Alexis Hayward has finally come out of the shadows.'

I flipped open the magazine and didn't think to look at it yet. I slapped it onto the counter, and paid for everything.

"Bye fletcher." She smiled.

"Bye." I mumbled.

I dropped everything off, but the magazine, at the house and drove to the bar.

"Number 14 please." I said.

"Fletcher! Son! What brought you in here?" A voice called out from behind me.

I turn around to see my uncle Barry.

"Hey uncle B..." I said softly.

He gazed around behind me and his eyes landed on the magazine I had just bought. He gave me a sad look.

"So you've read it?" He asked.

I shook my head.

"Here, sit. I'll get you the regular." He said, showing me to the stools at the bar.

I sat down, staring at the picture on the front cover, looking at how happy she looked in this picture. Is she finally happy? Was I never good enough? Why did she chose him over me?

'Because he's a rich, handsome actor/singer, and he's what society picked for her.' The voice said in my head.

but she said she loved me..
