-------- Episode 01 --------
Merlin walks through the countryside to Camelot, with his sister huffing behind him. They paused staring at the large palace before them, before continuing through the opens gates with the guards keeping a close eye. Walking into the court yard, they both frowned upon seeing a man about to get beheaded.
King Uther addresses a crowd from the balcony in the Square. "Let this serve as a lesson to all. This man, Thomas James Collins, is judged guilty of conspiring to use enchantments and magic. And, pursuant to the laws of Camelot, I, Uther Pendragon, have decreed that such practices are banned on penalty of death. I pride myself as a fair and just king, but for the crime of sorcery there is but one sentence I can pass." Uther gives the signal and the man is beheaded, causing Quinn to glare up at the man not once looking at the sickening scene in front of them.
"When I came to this land, this kingdom was mired in chaos, but with the people's help magic was driven from the realm. So I declare a festival to celebrate twenty years since the Great Dragon was captured and Camelot freed from the evil of sorcery. Let the celebrations begin." A women steps up wailing and shouting in anger, "There is only one evil in this land, and it is not magic! It is you! With your hatred and your ignorance! You killed my son! But I promise you, before these celebrations are over, you will share my tears. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a son for a son."
Quinn flinched at her angry promise, how could people be so cruel to each other? "Seize her!" Uther shouted in a anger as he pointed in her direction, but before the guards could get to her she muttered a spell and is whisked away in a whirl of wind and smoke. Merlin looks towards his sister who had a frown on her face, before he grabbed her hand and led her forward.
Merlin enter the palace, dragging his sister and addresses a guard they came upon. "Where would we find Gaius, the- the court physician?" The guard just points. Merlin and Quinn walk up steps and knocks on the open door to the physician's quarters and peeks inside. "Hello?" They both spoke into the seemingly empty room. "Hello? Gaius?" Gaius trips over backwards from the bookshelf stairs and the railing breaks. Quinn's eyes glow and she slows time enough for Merlin to magically sweep a mattress under Gaius before he hits the floor.
"What did you just do?!" Gaius demanded towards them as he stood up, "Tell me!" He grew closer to them, "I—I– I have no idea what happened." Quinn wanted to roll her eyes at her brothers stupid response. "If anyone had seen that..." Gaius looked towards the girl as she rolled her eyes, "Er, no! That–that was– that was nothing to do with me. That–that was..." Merlin tried to figure out what to say, while Quinn started to look around the room. "I know what it was! I just want to know where you learned how to do it!" Gaius demanded, slapping Quinn's hand when she tried to touch a bottle.
