"Aivery?" I hear my best friend, Violett yell from the kitchen. "Coming!" I say trying to finish putting on my boots. Walking out into the living room, I see Mark, one of Violett's boy toys, half asleep on the couch. "I thought we had a deal?" I say crossing my arms together at Violett who was standing behind the island eating cereal. She half laughed and said "No one takes you seriously when you try to give attitude, you know that right?" Sighing, I unfold my arms in which she replies "Alright fine. I'll keep up my end of the deal." Walking around the island and to the couch, she yelled "MARK" in Marks face causing a very scared jump and falling to the floor. "It's time for you to leave." He stares up at her awkwardly for a minute until she stomps and says "Mark, GO!" He stammers up and walks toward the door, expecting Violett to follow he turns and sees her where he just left. "I don't get a goodbye kiss?" She shook her head and said "You knew this was a one time thing. No reason to leave it open to another." He glared at her and slammed the door behind him. "Damn you really pissed him off." I say walking to the kitchen to grab myself a cup of coffee. "He was to drunk to put out any. He fell asleep before anything happened. Probably embarrassed." she says shrugging and going back to her cereal. When it came to men, Violett was heartless. Ever since what the jock did to her in high school, she only uses them as tools. "What time do you work till today?" She asks rinsing her bowl out. I turn and lean against the counter, sipping on my coffee and say "I'm not sure. Michaels has four meetings in his office today that I have twenty minutes each to make sure are set up and prepared properly. It all depends on how well those go and if there's anything else Michaels will need after those meetings are finished." She nods and says "Well I was thinking.." she says as I start to eye her suspiciously. "You were thinking what exactly?". "Well I was hoping that we could go out tonight? It is Friday and you never want to party." she responds rolling her eyes. I shrug and answer "I'm not interested in the drinking and the dancing. I like coming home and crawling into bed." She shakes her head and starts to walk towards her room. "I'm not letting you say no tonight. I'm gonna give you a make over." I roll my eyes and look at the time on the stove. 7:41. Perfect time for me to have enough time to get to work. Rinsing my cup out, I head back to my room to grab my bag, a coat and my phone. Taking on last look in the mirror, making sure my pencil skirt was straight, there was no wrinkles in my long sleeve navy blue dress shirt. Looking at my blonde hair in its neat bun and my light make up on, I felt good to leave. Slipping on my nice sweater, I walked out to the living room and yelled "I'm leaving! I'll see you tonight." Grabbing my keys and shutting the door behind me, I headed out to the busy day that awaited me.
Pulling up to the office building with twenty minutes till clock in, I hurried my way up to the top floor so I could get a head start on the business of today. Putting my purse under my desk, I turn my computer on and clock in. Hurrying into Mr. Michaels' office, I fixed him his usual coffee and set it down on his desk and went to leave when Mr Michaels and a business partner Mr. Fillr walked in. "Ah Ms Carpenter, my coffee on my desk?" he asks walking towards it. I nod and say "Yes sir." I turned to walk back to my desk when Mr Fillr said "Ms Carpenter. Look at those beautiful legs. MhmmmMM what I would do if I got in between them." I stop cold in my tracks as what he just sent danger shivers down my back. "That is quite enough Andrew." Mr Michaels says as I continue to walk out the doors and to my desk. I sit down and start going through the list of the day that I prepare for myself the night before. I start printing off the required material for each of the four meetings and go to knock on Mr Michaels door so I could grab them from the printer. "Come in" I hear Mr Michaels say as I enter. Mr Michaels doesn't acknowledge my presence, but Mr Fillr sure does. "Oh my oh my, come to put on a show for me?" he says licking his lips. I ignore him and ask "May I grab your notes for the meetings from the printer?" to Mr Michaels. He nods and says "Of course." I walk to the back of the room, still feeling Mr Fillr's eyes on me. "Andrew please focus on the task on hand or I will have security escort you from the building for harassing my secretary." Feeling the relief of his eyes off me, I grab all the papers I printed and exited the office, shutting the door behind me. Sitting down at my desk, I start to sort through them. Looking at the time, I realized I only had ten minutes left before the first meeting started and I hadn't started the set up of the conference room. Hurrying to grab the papers for the first meeting, I head to the conference room to set it up. Laying out the papers at each chair, I start the coffee pot, renew the cups and sugar packets and run to the cafeteria to grab three boxes of donuts Mr Michaels likes having at all his meetings. Setting them down on the table next to the coffee, Mr Michaels enters with several men following behind. "Ms. Carpenter, everything ready?" I nod and say "Yes Sir." He sits down at the head of the long table and he says "Great. You are dismissed." Nodding with his response, I walk out of the room. Heading back to my desk to finish the other meetings paperwork, I look up to a snicker. "My dear, why are you always working so hard?" I look up to find Kacey, Mr Fillr's secretary. "It's my job." I respond not letting him distract me from the task at hand. I didn't have the time to waste. "And? well anyways Mr. Fillr wanted me to ask if you would go out on a date with him." I laugh and shake my head. "I'll take that as a no?" Kacey responds making me look up. "I'm not the dating type. Your boss gives me the creeps anyways. " I continue my work and Kacey walks away, much to my disbelief. About an hour later, the first business meeting was over and I headed to clean and get it ready for the next. Turning my back on the door, I hadn't realized that someone had come in and shut the door and made a noise to get my attention. Turning around to find Mr Fillr standing by the door. "Since I couldn't get you to go out on a date, I figured this would be the only way to get your attention without the help of Michaels." he says walking towards me. I started to move as far as I could to get away from him, but he continued to close the space in between us. Running into the wall, Mr Fillr put his hands around my head and tried to close the space between us. I could smell his cologne and his breath, which smelled horrendous. "You my dear will be mine. Whether you agree to it or not." Before he could kiss me, I watched him be ripped off and thrown onto the desk by one of Mr. Michaels security guards. "Mr Michaels was wanting me to inform you that the meeting will not be taking place today after all, when I found him, I knew you were in trouble. Are you okay?" he asks standing next to me. I nod and walk out the door towards my desk. I clock out for lunch, grab my purse and head to the cafeteria. Waiting in line, trying to process everything that just conspired, I texted Violett.
