Chapter 37 Nicknames

Drayton's POV

I can't believe I just exploded on her like that!

I can not believe I had said all that to her. All of that was lies! God Im such a hypocrite!

I need to tell the that I didn't mean the things I had said. I have never seen K cry, not even tearing up a little bit and now I could clearly see her eyes brimming with tears which she refused to shed.

I quickly recovered, but by the time I came back from my thoughts the elevator had already closed and started to go upwards. To the Chiefs floor.

Soon enough the elevator doors opened and Chief walked in.

"Ah, Drayton. Did you need to ask or tell me something?" He asked with a confused face.

"I-I... N-No, nothing." I said while still trying to clear my head and my eyes fell on a small object, only the size of a small button, but it was still there and I knew exactly what it was.

It was a small camera.

Which means someone has been listening and seeing everything that has been going on in here, including mine and K's fight.

And I don't think that Chief pressing the elevator button in that same second that I was going to exit the elevator was a coincidence.

"I was just about to come and talk to you and K about the mission." He said which caused me to snap my eyes to his face.

"Wasn't the mission to bring Agent Heart back safely?" I asked. "We have completed the mission." i added.

'And why just me and K?' was what I really wanted to ask, but didn't.

"I know, but this is about another one." He said calmly without looking at me with his hands linked in front of him.

I wanted to ask him about the topic even further, but decided against it and wait until he tells our whole team the information he wants to. Plus, he is acting pretty odd in a way that I can't exactly pin point.

The elevator stopped and we both stepped out to continue our way to the door with the golden letters spelling our teams personal identification name.

"Get K to come out here please. I would like to talk to you in private." He said, which caused me to get even more confused, but more than anything, it caused me to get nervous and sent my heart racing at the thought of confronting K after what I had said to her.

"Yes sir." I said and with that I walked into the apartment for the second time of my life, and I might be going crazy with all my out bursts, paranoia and everything but I could have sworn I saw Chief let a small smirk cover his face as I turned my back to him.

I closed the door behind me and to my surprise no-one was in the living room of the apartment.

Where is everyone? There aren't that many rooms in this apartment, only about five if you don't count in the bathroom, if I'm remembering correctly.

I heard some talking coming from one of the bedrooms and started to approach the closed door and the voices began getting louder.

"Don't you think we should tell Drayton? I mean, he's as much a part of this as the rest of us. Hell, he's more a part of this than Blake or Eszter, no offence guys." I heard Mackenzie's voice say.

What are they talking about?

"I know, and so does K. K will tell him soon. This was just urgent for you guys to know." Christian said.

I can't believe they're keeping something from me.

"Christian, I don't think it's best if I-" K's voice started, but I quickly opened the door and interrupted her in the process.
