When Shoto and I walked in, there were already two people sitting. One of them, I recognized from the recommendations test. The other had glasses and a tall, muscular build.
"Hello!" The glasses guy walked up. "Who would you two be?"
"Shoto and Yuki Todoroki." I said quietly. My brother made no attempt to speak.
"Tenya Iida, pleased to be of your aquaintance." Iida said. "Say, are you Endeavor's kids?"
Shoto and I tensed at the name. "Move." Shoto said as he shoved past Iida, who looked at him confusedly. I followed him to our seats in the back row.
Slowly, people began to trickle in. I looked up when someone yelled "DEKU!"
"H-hi Kacchan!" A small guy with messy green hair backed out of the room as a taller boy with ash blonde hair flew across the room. I glanced at Shoto, who shrugged.
"Class." A man who looked absolutely terrible walked into the room. A mustard yellow sleeping bag covered him. The green haired kid and a girl walked in. "I am Mr. Aizawa, your homeroom teacher. Everyone go put on your P.E. uniforms and meet me outside.
I swear I jumped into my uniform and ran outside in three minutes. Shoto and Iida were already there, glaring at each other. "Hey Sho-chan." I said. Shoto walked toward me.
"Class!" Mr. Aizawa and the rest of class 1-A had joined us. "We will now be doing a quirk apprehension test."
"But we'll miss orientation!" The brown haired girl exclaimed.
"We aren't doing stuff like that. You." Mr. Aizawa pointed at the ash-blonde kid. "How far could you throw a softball at the beginning of junior high?" he asked.
"63 meters." He replied.
"Now, throw this. Use your quirk." Mr. Aizawa handed him a ball. The kid threw the ball, an explosion bursting in his palm. The ball flew across the sky and out of sight..."
"704.3 meters." Mr. Aizawa said in his bored monotone.
"Woah, Kacchan!" The green haired kid looked amazed. So did everyone else.
"That was cool!" a kid with knobbly elbows said with a smile.
We did ten different tests, one by one. If we came in last, we would ultimately get expelled from U.A. No one wants to get expelled on their first day, so we all tried as hard as we could.
One kid I felt especially sorry for was the green-haired kid, who's name I still hadn't learned yet. He didn't seem to even have a quirk...
"INFINITY?!" Someone asked as the brown haired girl stepped out of the circle. She laughed uneasily before rejoining her place in the crowd.
"Midoriya, good luck." She whispered to the green-haired kid as he stepped out.
Midoriya. I would remember that.
He got ready to throw the ball. The ball flew out of his hands... and landed on the ground less than a meter in front of him. "What?" He spluttered.
"Try to concentrate your energy more into your finger." Mr. Aizawa instructed. "Your quirk was pretty destructive, as I remember." I realized that his long black hair was floating around him, and his eyes were red.
"Your quirk... you're Eraserhead!" Midoriya concluded. Mr. Aizawa nodded in approval,
"Throw it again."
This time, the ball sailed across the sky.
"705.3 meters."
"WHAT!?" Ash-blonde asked. "DEKU YOU WERE HIDING YOUR QUIRK WEREN'T YOU?!" He dove at Midoriya.
"Kacchan!" Midoriya looked scared.
"Stop it." The scarf wrapped around 'Kacchan's head and midsection. "Behave yourself, Bakugo. Midoriya, go see Recovery Girl when we're done."
"Y-yes sir!"
Mr. Aizawa projected the results. Shoto and I tied for second. Ash-blonde, uh, Bakugo, didn't look happy that he got fourth.
Midoriya looked the most dejected.
"Oh and by the way, no one's getting expelled." Mr. Aizawa said. "That is all, go home now."
All the lower scoring students looked super pissed off or frustrated. "As expected of U.A. high..." Iida commented.
Shoto and I took our queue to leave.
