I was sitting next to Ojiro and Tokoyami at lunch, both of whom were moping. Ojiro's food remained untouched, and he played with his spoon.

"Hey hey, Todoroki," Mineta came up to me. "Listen to this- there's supposed to be a cheering competition before the tournament!"

"You don't have to believe us, but Mr. Aizawa said it himself," Kaminari added.

"Why didn't I know about this sooner?" I asked.

I walked over to Yaoyorozu, who was making cheering uniforms. "So they told you about this too?" she asked as she handed me a uniform. "I hope that fits you..."

"This is stupid," I said as we walked to the locker rooms.

"Class 1-A, what kind of fanservice is that?!"

The seven of us stood in these cheer uniforms, not knowing what to do.

"Why did I end up stumbling into that little pervert's plans again?" Yaoyorozu asked, ashamed.

"They really are idiot," Jiro said, her face turning red.

"I mean, we have a whole lot of time yet, and it's not good to stress... We'll have to make do until then!" Hagakure said excitedly.

"She actually likes this stuff, doesn't she?" Asui asked. I sat down, my face warming up.

"Goddamn it, I forgot the eyepatch," I muttered to myself as I traced my scar.

"AND NOW WE MOVE INTO OUR FINAL EVENT, THE TOURNAMENT! WE'RE PITTING THEM AGAINST EACH OTHER... IN ONE TO ONE COMBAT!"

"Aye, I can finally be on the stage I dreamed of!" Kirishima said smiling.

"Don't they always have this?" Ashido asked.

"Some aspects of it change," Sero explained. "But it's always one on one. I've been watching these for as long as I can remember,"

"We're drawing lots to determine who's going against who in the first eight rounds," Midnight said. She held up a white box with the word 'Lots' in black. "The sixteen contestants may rest instead of doing the recreational activities as well. Now for the first te-"

"Excuse me," Ojiro had his hand raise. What was he planning? "I... I don't want to participate,"

"Ojiro?!"

"You're gonna miss the big opportunity they've given us!"

"But why..." I asked quietly.

"The cavalry battle, I don't remember anything up until the last few seconds... I think it was because of the quirk of our rider," Ojiro explained. "I know this is a rare opportunity, and it's be stupid of me to throw it away..."

"However, everyone else got here by their own strengths. They gave it their best shot. And I can never do the same and reach this level," Ojiro admitted.

 "It doesn't matter!" Hagakure said.

"Ojiro, you don't know what you're saying,' I said.

"Yes, I do," Ojiro said. "It's a question of my dignity... I don't want it to be this way... and why are you all wearing cheerleader outfits...?" Ojiro asked confusedly.

My face turned bright red, and I pulled on the eye patch.

"I don't agree with it either," The round kid said. "I want to resign. I didn't do anything to get here... it goes against the festival rules to win without doing anything,"

I swear Midnight glared at us. "What innocent words..."she said. "I LIKE THEM! I accept Shoda and Ojiro's resignation!"

Ojiro wiped his tears away. "I'm not giving it up," Aoyama said. I punched him.

"Shut up, French dipshit," I growled. "Stop rubbing salt into his wounds,"

"The fifth place team can volunteer two of it's members to go into the tournament. So, team Midoriya?"

Midoriya broke down into tears. Uraraka raised her hand. "I volunteer the two strongest members of our team, Midoriya and Tokoyami,"

"And done! Midoriya and Tokoyami from class 1-A are now in the tournament!"

The pink haired girl glared at Uraraka.

"Let's show the pairings!" Midnight said as the board changed.

Midoriya vs. Shinso

Shoto vs. Sero

Aoyama vs. Ashido

Yaoyorozu vs. Tokoyami

Me vs. Kaminari

Awase vs. Iida

Tetsutetsu vs. Kirishima

and Bakugo vs. Juzo

Well dang. Kaminari.

I returned to the stands with the rest of the people who decided not to take part in the recreational activities. I sat down next to Shoto and Ojiro.

"You know, that took a lot of courage to come out like that," I told Ojiro. "I... I think that was pretty cool of you to use integrity,"

"You think?" Ojiro asked, his eyes wet with unshed tears. We were all told boys shouldn't cry, but there were times when they had to.

"I would never have been able to do that," I said. I leaned over to Shoto. "So, you're up against Tape man?"

"Sero. Yea," Shoto said, staring aimlessly down at the field. "I'm gonna take a walk,"

"Sh-Shoto, stop getting up like that!" I yelled as he walked up the aisle. I followed him with a scowl. Ojiro followed us, and went the opposite direction when we got inside.

"Dad?"

Endeavor was standing at the end of the hallway.
