We all stood in front of the building. Eight teachers stood in front of us.
"As you know, it is time for the practical exams," Mr. Aizawa said.
"We're going against robots, right?!" Ashido and Kaminari asked, suddenly happy.
"Wrong!" Nezu popped out of Mr. Aizawa's scarf. "We've had to change it because of the villain's attacks lately,"
"Should I be worried?" I asked Ojiro. He shrugged.
"We'll be pairing you up and pit you against a teacher," Mr. Aizawa said. "They've also already been chosen,"
Tokoyami & Asui against Ectoplasm
Iida & Ojiro against Powerloader
Ashido & Kaminari against Nezu
Shoto & Yaoyorozu against Mr. Aizawa
Midoriya & Bakugo against All Might
Shoji & Hagakure against Snipe
Aoyama & Uraraka against Thirteen
Mineta & Sero against Midnight
Kirishima & Sato against Cementoss
Jiro & Me against Present Mic
"Good luck, Ojiro," I said to him. I had been able to control my blushing, but hopefully it didn't look too much like I was dying on the inside.
"Yea. You too, Todoroki," he said.
Jiro and I found ourselves inside a forested area, with Present Mic yelling at us. Jiro countered with her own amplified heartbeat, but it was no match against Present Mic's voice. If I used my fire, then I would just end up destroying everything, so that was out of the question.
"I have an idea," I said, hiding behind a rock with my partner. "I'll try to get close to Present Mic and knock him down,"
"But don't you fight long range?" Jiro asked.
"That's where you're wrong," I replied. "Honestly, I think I'll burst my eardrums, but it should be worth it,"
"Todoroki, we're making muffs for you," Jiro said. "There is no way you are going to be able to hear afterwards if you run at him straight on,"
So Jiro and I stuffed some mushrooms into a couple leaves, and I froze them over my ears. I gave her a thumbs up, and sent up a wall of ice to the left. Grabbing the handcuffs from Jiro, I tore through the middle. Even through the makeshift earmuffs, I could still hear Present Mic's ever so loud voice. My ears popped twice, and by the time I saw Present Mic, my head hurt really bad.
I flew out of the shrubbery and opened the cuffs. Present Mic countered me, and I was floating in the air for a second before my right side flared up. Immediately, my right ear went deaf but I flew towards my teacher and clicked the handcuffs around his wrist.
"TEAM TODOROKI AND JIRO HAS PASSED,"
Jiro came out a little later and high fived me. "That was great, Todoroki!"
"Did... anyone else pass before us?" I asked.
"Your brother and Yaomomo did," Jiro said. "So did Asui and Tokoyami. And Midoriya and Bakugo. Todoroki, your ear's bleeding,"
"Noted," I said. "Time to find Recovery Girl,"
By the time I returned, Ojiro's teaming and Hagakure's teaming had also passed.
"We still have Kaminari and Ashido, Mineta and Sero, Kirishima and Sato, and Aoyama and Uraraka out there," Midoriya said.
I nodded toward my brother and stood next to Ojiro.
"Oh hey Todoroki," Ojiro smiled. I said nothing as I grasped his hands. Ojiro's face turned red, and his mouth was kind of open.
"How did it fare for you two?" I asked.
"O...okay," Ojiro said, suddenly loosing all concentration.
"SATO, KIRISHIMA TEAM HAS PASSED,"
"We have five minutes," Recovery Girl said. I watched the clock.

"AND TIME IS UP!"
I watched up on the big screen as Uraraka and Aoyama let go of their bar, Kaminari sank to his knees, and Midnight dragged out a sleeping Mineta and Sero.
I changed back into the school uniform, and returned to the classroom. Kaminari, Ashido, Mineta, and Sero were being really super salty about failing the test. Aoyama looked as if he didn't care, and Uraraka was... sitting on Midoriya's desk. I poked Ojiro as I walked past him with a mischievious smile.
"So some people did fail the exams," Mr. Aizawa said. "Mineta, Uraraka, Ashido, Kaminari, Aoyama, and Sero. You all failed the exams, but... everyone is going to the forest lodge!"
The six who failed jumped up happily.
"BUT! This is actually a bootcamp, so you guys will have to work harder than everyone else," Mr. Aizawa said. "Class is dismissed,"
"You know, we should all go to the mall tomorrow," Hagakure suggested. Everyone agreed it was a great idea.
"Todoroki, are you going?" Ojiro asked.
"Yea. I need to buy some stuff," I replied.
"Yuki, I told you to visit mom!" Shoto said.
"I don't feel ready yet, okay?" I glared at him. I picked up my book bag. "I'll meet you all at 11," I said and walked out the door following Bakugo.
"Todoroki wait," Ojiro grabbed my hand. I spun around.
"What?"
Ojiro opened his mouth, closed it, looked around the room, then handed me a folded piece of paper. "Contact info," he said quietly before letting go and walking over to the invisible girl.
Contact info, eh?
When Shoto got home, I was laying on the ground in front of the TV, watching our abusive excuse of a dad after defeating yet another villain. Fuyu was yelling at me for laying on the ground, but I completely ignored her.
"Tadaima," Shoto said as he dropped his book bag in the hallway. "Yuki, what is it with you and not coming out of your shell?" he asked.
"I have no shell," I said sarcastically. "I'm obviously not a turtle," Shoto sighed.
"Well, have fun with the rest of the class tomorrow then,"

Tadaima is like saying "I'm home!"
