As the week came to an end, the Cullens invited Bella and Alex to play baseball with them. The Friday night before they were to go to the field, Bella and Alex had been talking about it. "Edward and I are picking you up at like 9:25, so make sure you're ready. Goodnight." Bella said. "'Night." Alex said before hanging up the phone. She went to shower, and afterwards put on a white tank top and grey sweatpants. Her hair was wet and cold against her back. When Alex got back into the room, she saw Jasper sitting on her bed. Thank God she was wearing her black fuzzy robe so he couldn't see the bruises on her arm. Most of her bruises were almost completely faded, but they were dark and ugly to her. The cuts were still scabbed over, and the memories were still there. She still had yet to tell Jasper she had been missing for 8 years as a child, but she would tell him when the time was right.

All Alex did was smile at him before going to her dresser, trying to ring out the rest of the water droplets from her hair. Jasper came behind her and rubbed her arms before planting a soft kiss to her temple. "Did I tell you that you looked beautiful today?" He asked her as he rested his chin against her shoulder. Alex silently laughed as she wiped her damp hands on her pajama pants. "Yes, more than once." Alex said as she rearranged her dresser.

"Well then I'll say it again. You're beautiful." He whispered in her ear, sending chills down her spine. "Thank you." Alexandria said with a yawn. She was about to walk to her bed when she felt a sharp pain in her stomach. "Ow." She said before kneeling on the floor in pain. Jasper shot his head in her direction, and sped to help her. "Jasper, it's happening again. I-" Alex said before shrieking. "Jas, it hurts." Alex whimpered as she squeezed her eyes shut.

"Tell me where it hurts." He said. Alex grabbed his hand and placed it on her stomach, watching the envisioned blood seep through his fingers. "Jasper-oh god." She cried out and she felt the pain get more intense. Jasper felt her sense of panic, and calmed her down with his abilities. Tears streamed her cheeks as Jasper gently caressed her face with his stone cold knuckles. She tried to fight it off, but all she could hear in her head was "It's your turn, witch," from her 8-year assailant. More tears poured from her eyes, and she was thankful that Jasper's ability was not mind reading.

Jasper collected Alex in his arms and shushed her, whispering soothing words into her ear. He rocked her back and forth on the floor, and walked at a human speed as he carried her in his arms to her bed. He laid down beside her and pulled her into his embrace, and her wails ceased to exist. He looked down at her and saw that she had been sniffling and staring at his chest. "It stopped." She said in a melancholic voice. Jasper held her closer to him, and stroked her now drying dark hair. He looked down at his mate and saw how fragile and delicate she was. He wanted to make all of her pain go away. It was only the beginning of their relationship, but Jasper could tell even without the supernatural bondage that they had something pure and real. And he never wanted that to go away.

"Alexandria." He was softly, pressing his mouth to her head. He heard her heartbeat go down, and heard the blood rushing through her veins. the first time they met, the smell of her blood was so tempting that that night he had to feed on at least nine different animals to get the thought of it out of his head. She hummed in response to him calling her name, her tracing her finger along his chest in a way to distract herself from the pain she just endured. She had no idea why she enduring so much pain from that dream. It was all too real. Something else was going on besides her mental health going against her again. It was something she was not fully ready for, and scared of.

"Have you talked to anyone about this? The pain?" He asked. 'What a concerned boyfriend.' She thought as she sat up and pulled her hair over her left shoulder. "No. It started happening after-after a nightmare I had." She said in a quiet voice. He kissed the top of her head and stroked her hair more. "Can you tell me what the nightmare was about?" He asked her with caution. She looked at him with wide eyes, and he could practically smell the fear and sadness on her. "I can't tell you. I mean, I-I want to tell you. I'm not ready yet. I'm sorry." She said as she looked down at her lap. He caught her chin in his hand and gently turned her head to look at him. "You don't have to apologize for what you feel, Alexandria. I won't pressure you into anything you don't want to do." He told her seriously. She looked him in the eye and nodded. He stayed holding her until she fell asleep on his chest, and then went home.
