Alex woke up with a complete memory of the night before. She could feel Jasper's cold hands on her skin, and she could hear him tell her things about what he was. It was all a bit overwhelming, especially since she didn't know if they were dating or not. He hadn't told her a lot about vampires, him specifically, but she was sure he would in time.

Adelaide came into the attic with a sleepy Catalina. Alex sat up straight on her bed, reaching her arms out so Adelaide could give her the baby. It was very early in the morning, 5 am to be exact. Alex was glad that Jasper was no where in sight so her sister would not be suspicious.

"We have two hours before mom tries to wake us up. There has to be something in this old stuff that tells us what is going on." Adelaide said. Alex nodded as she rocked Catalina in her arms, making sure she stayed asleep. The baby would definitely whine when she woke up, so it was better if they acted quickly.

Alex and Adelaide were looking through books until 6:30. Daphne would wake them up for school in a half hour. Catalina was starting to stir awake, beginning to whine. The baby hated waking up. Alexandria had laid her on her bed with pillows surrounding the edges so she wouldn't fall. "I'll go make her a bottle. Make sure she doesn't wake Mom and Dad up." Alex told her sister. The older girl grabbed her phone and headed for the door. "Be careful." Adelaide said as she went to quiet the baby down.

As Alex carefully walked downstairs, she tried to avoid the creaky steps that lead to the second floor hallway. As she walked through the hallway, she heard that her parents were already up. And they were talking about something. About their daughters.

"We are putting their lives in danger, Matthew. Alexandria is already involved with some vampire! He could hurt her." Daphne exclaimed. Matthew was clearly trying to calm his wife down. "He seems genuine. And at least he doesn't feed on humans. She'll be safe. He loves her." Matthew told his wife to calm her down.

"If he thinks for one second he can just claim her as his mate and take her away he is sadly mistaken." Daphne said. Even though her mother was pretty calm and had a sweet voice, the woman wait angry a lot. "Daphne, calm down. He'll protect her. You know he will." Alexandria heard her father say. She quickly ran to the kitchen.

In the kitchen, Alexandria set her phone on the island counter. She washed a bottle out for Catalina to drink from, cleaning the bottle's nipple as well. As she got the milk out from the refrigerator, her phone buzzed. Alex went to it to see a text from Jasper.

J: Good morning, sugar.
A: Morning, Jazz.
J: Could you do me a favor?
A: Sure. What's up?
J: Go to your back door.

Alex furrowed her eyebrows together as she did what he said. When she opened the door, she saw Jasper outside of her house with a bouquet of flowers. A bouquet of red roses. Hopefully they didn't have any thorns.

Alex unlocked the door with a grin on her face, leaning against the door frame. Jasper leaned to kiss her head before handing her the flowers. Alex shivered when she took them out of his hands. There were no thorns, thank God. Alex set them on the end table underneath the coat hook. The back door had its own little room where the Grier family put their rain shoes, coats, and keys. The house was pretty big.

Jasper smiled down at Alex as she crossed her arms underneath her chest. "I just woke up." She lied with a pout Alex wanted to get Jasper away quickly so she could continue the search with Adelaide. But he was just too damn irresistible to her. Jasper settled his hands at her sides. "My apologies, ma'am." He said as he leaned down for a kiss. Before their lips met, Alex heard someone clear their throat.

Alex turned around to see her little sisters behind her. Her pale cheeks suddenly turned red. Adelaide had been holding a sleeping Catalina. The 12 year old said nothing as she walked back to the kitchen to put the baby in the high chair. Alex felt a kiss on her head. She turned to say something to Jasper, but he had sped off, probably to his house.
