The next Monday, Alex couldn't hardly wait to get the day over with. She sprung up from her bed and raced to the shower. When she got into the shower, it was 6:10, and she took the longest shower she possibly could. It was now 6:45. Alex wrapped her towel around herself, running a hand through her hair. It was wet and fell all over her eyes. The brunette took a smaller towel from the closet and ruffled her hair into it. The smaller towel had sucked up some of the moisture, but her hair was still damp from the shower.

Alex went back to her room, detangling her hair along the way. She remembered when she was 6, she got a hold of a pair of scissors and cut her eyelashes off of her left eye. No one was watching her that day during Montessori. It seems like throughout her life, people didn't watch her at the wrong times. And then bad things happen. Luckily, her lashes grew back.

Alex unwrapped her towel, putting on a tan colored bra and underwear. She brushed through her hair softly, locks of dark brown becoming puffy. Alex decided to let it air dry and then run it over once with a flat iron.

She dressed herself in a black t-shirt that was tied into a knot at the bottom, ripped jeans with band symbol patches, and basic black and white Chuck Taylor's. Alex ran a hand through her hair, looking down at her dresser with a sigh. Something she had never seen before was there: a gold necklace with a rose pendant at the bottom. Alex fiddled with the necklace, wondering who left it on her dresser.

"It was your grandmother's." A male voice said. Alex turned around to see her father smiling sadly at her. "Your mother or mom's?" She asked him, looking back down at the necklace. Her dad walked towards her. He worked from home while her mother was a pharmacist at the hospital. The same hospital that Dr. Cullen worked at.

"My mother's. Your Grandma Abigail." Her father told her. Alex nodded, pushing her hair behind her ear as she examined the necklace. "It's pretty." She told him, fiddling with the pendant. Alex's father put a hand on her back before sighing quietly. "She wanted you to have it. When she died, she told me to give it to you." Her dad said, smiling sadly. He then reached for the necklace to put it on her. Alex held her hair up so it would get caught in the chain. Once the necklace was securely hooked on her neck, Alex let her hair fall back down.

"Thanks, dad. I really like it." Alex said to him, giving him a hug. It felt good to hear his voice. It always felt like she had to earn the gift of hearing him talk. "You're welcome, Marie." He told her, giving her a tender kiss on the forehead.

Bella and Alex were nearly silent, save for the few times Alex told Bella to drive at the green light when the younger girl had been gazing out the window instead of paying attention to traffic lights. When they got to school, Bella parked in a spot a bit far in the lot.

"We need to figure out what's up with the Cullens." Bella said when she stopped. "No we don't. We don't bother them, they don't bother us. You can go snooping all you want, but I am staying out of it." Alex said, causing Bella to roll her eyes. "Alex, we don't have time for-" She started before being cut off by Alex's  hand. "Bella. End of discussion." She said before getting out of the car, and intentionally slamming the door a bit harder than usual. Bella slammed the door with the same strength.

The started walking before Alexandria stopped dead in her tracks. She looked at Jasper and a pang went to her head. 'It was him.' Alex said before grabbing Bella hand and running with her into the school. Jasper had followed her gaze and watched her dart into the building. Bella had been a bit shocked at her outburst. It seemed like she wanted to tell her something after moments ago of being mad from talking about the Cullens. When they got inside the building, Alex pulled Bella into the girls' bathroom. No one was in there.
