CHAPTER 8- I need you.
Demi's POV
I laid in bed, blasting music and trying to drown out the voices that were screaming in my head.
He'll never love you.
Why do you think he won't have sex with you?
Or go farther than simply kissing?
Because he's disgusted, and is going to leave you soon.
You're too worthless and fat for him.
My nails dug into the palms of my hands as I tried to take myself out of what my mind is slipping closer and closer to. My trembling hands found my cellphone and dialed Jake's number without even thinking. A few seconds later, he voice- thick from sleep, come through.
"Hey babe." A strangled sob came from my chest and I immediately clapped a hand over my mouth to prevent anymore sounds from escaping as Jake's voice became alert and full of alarm. "Demi?! What's wrong?"
I hesitated for a split second, then sighed. "I just... I need you." My voice was small and childlike.
"I'll be there in ten."
He got here in five.
"Demi?" I heard Jake open the door using the spare key above the doorframe.
"Here." I croaked, turning down the music. He walked in, the stopped, assesing the scene.
"Demi, what happened?" Jake murmured, walking over to the bed.
Quickly, I latched on and pulled him down next to me, curling into a ball against his side and letting my tears soak his t-shirt.
"Shhh Dems, tell me what's happened. Calm down." I concentrated on the sound of his voice and was finally able to take a shaky deep breath. As I began to calm down, the guilt for calling him at two in the morning began to weight on me.
"I'm sorry, it wasn't even a big deal, just something stupid."
Jake shook his head, "I know when you're lying Dems, just let me in."
I shook my head, "It's too dark."
Jake's face was serious as he stared deep into my eyes.
"We all dance with the devil sometimes."
